We are staying at AKL in October for our first kids free trip. We are thinking about going to Nouba, as well as doing the Epcot Divequest. Has anyone seen Nouba or done the Epcot Divequest?

Thanks.

hey the food/wine at Epcot would be enough for me. Novua was nice - been a few years - so probably need to go back.

don't dive. Seem it they looked like they were having fun.:rolleyes1

how about parasailing at the CR/BLT.

rent a boat - but like bay lake or seven seas lagoon - more than Crescent Lake

you can go to FW campground and do its activities as well

La Nouba is great and definitely worth seeing.

You will be there during the Food and Wine Festival so make sure you allot some time for dining at the food kiosks around World Showcase. There are also some special dining experiences during that time that you might enjoy. You can see a list of them on allears net.com.

We've seen LaNouba twice - it was great each time. I recommend seeing it! DH and I do a no kids trip each fall. We always eat at a new restaurant - one that we might not want to take the kids to. We also do a new tour each trip, we have never done the dive tour, but are doing Undiscovered Futureworld this trip.

We mainly just relax - we spend lots of time at the quiet pool. We eat at a great restaurant each night and spend lots of time at EPCOT (our favorite park). Last year, I think we rode 2 rides all week, but had a fabulous time!

During their teenage years our kids stopped wanting to vacation with us. Now, as young adults who pay their own bills they're quick to jump at all free vacation offers. Hmmm.
Anywho, when we traveled alone, my husband and I would do things that were out of our financial range when with the 4 kids, such as...
Segway tours (prefer the one in Fort Wilderness)
Cirque de soliel
A nice dinner in a character-less restaurant
Disney Golf (for him)
Cocktail hour every afternoon
Welcome Home Wednesdays (we think that's a hoot, but we stay right nearby).

Things on the to do list:
Keys to the Kingdom tour
Massages
Helicopter ride around WDW and vicinity

It's great traveling without the youngin's. In fact, I've been known to say "Disney is no place for children". Have a blast! pixiedust:

We will also be at AKL in Oct. for a no kids trip, we have plans for dinner in Canada & Italy but the wife still has to do the Crystal Palace for breakfast she loves the puffed french toast. Would have to agree about doing a behind the scenes tour they are great and gives you a whole new outllok at some things. We did Behind the Steam at the Mk and enjoyed it alot, now we have to pick one for this trip.
When will you be there we are there Oct 7th- 14th.

We saw La Nouba years ago and loved it. If it weren't so pricey I would definitely go again.

We went to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk for the first time on our most recent trip. It was a lot of fun!

Since you are at AKL, how about trying the evening safari/dinner at Jiko? Haven't done it but it's on my list!

We had a friend do the diving tour last year and she really enjoyed it.

How about doing the Animal Trek at AK? I would definitely check out any tours I was interested in. Your two sound great.

Thanks for all of the great ideas. We are plannning on going to F&W. We are also planning on going to Jellyrolls one night. It looks like a lot of fun. I think we will book La Nouba. I am waiting to see if there will be a DVC discount for the time we are there.

I know it seems lame but we park hopped on our AO trip and it was fantastic!!! Got to do the things we love at each park and had no time constraints.
Also loved spending some time at DTD enjoying an adult beverage and the atmosphere.

Dh and I have done La Nouba twice...love it and will do it again.
We've also done many of the tours, have enjoyed each and every one of them.

Our next trip we are signed up to do the Wild Africa Trek and are really excited about it!

Do all the things you can that you won't be able to do when you take your kids. Also, some things you normally do with your kids will be totally different doing as 'adults only'.

Enjoy!!

We went to the Campground to watch the MK fireworks on the beach and hung around to see the Electric Boat parade then headed back to the resort. It was a lot of fun to just sit in a chair and enjoy a peaseful time in the dark.
We also rented a boat at DTD and had a good time but I would like to do it on Seven seas or Bay lake, more area to open it up and drive. :drive:

If you are interested in venturing out you could always check out one of my favs, Bahama Breeze and Halloween horror nights. My girlfriend and I go every year at this time in addition to f and w. This is my favorite time of the year. Have fun

We took an adults only trip in July. I think our favorite thing to do was ride the monorail and stop off at each hotel for a cocktail. It was a little pricey, but something we could never do with our son in tow. Our trip report is linked below if you want to read about the whole trip. You'll have a blast!

That's a great idea. We have only seen Grand Floridian and Poly from the bus and from a boat so we would like to see those resorts.

Yes! Resort hopping to see the different resorts is a very fun way to spend an afternoon or evening.:goodvibes

The keys to the kingdom tour is great. I would also take advantage of making dining reservations for some of the "nicer" restaurants. Perhaps Victoria and Alberts? A fireworks cruise is also nice to do.

I have become known to my family as the Disney Tour Guide (they are talking about buying me a little red flag!) for adult only trips, as I travel with just my DH once a year and my GF's or cousins once or twice a year as well.

Favorite spots and things to do -Adult Only:

The Mandara Oriental Spa in the Dolphin Hotel

Jellyrolls:goodvibes

Yachtsman Steakhouse

DTD for Cirque
House of Blues for drinks and appetizers
The lounge for same at Animal Kingdom Lodge and watching the animals

Private tours. DH and I recently did the backstage at AKP tour and LOVED IT. 2 years ago my cousins and I did the private tour from Animal Kingdom Villas, where you go out on the safari truck around the hotel savannahs and the park savannah followed by Jiko's dinner and wine pairing. Don't recall the name of it just now. And I think it's only available if you are staying at AKV or AKL.

Segway tours - (next time I want to do it around fort wilderness!)

Seeing anything anywhere on property that our kids were never interested in; One Mans Dream at DHS is always a favorite, as is Hall of President's in MK.

Romantic dinners.

Sleeping late, staying up late and taking afternoon naps ;) (never did when the kids were young because it was always go, go, go!)

Definitely don't miss La Nouba - it's fantastic!

Many many more! Enjoy your AO trip :hyper:

I'll jump on the bandwagon and say that La Nouba is definitely something to try at least once. Divequest would also be something neat to check off the bucket list if you're a diver.

We really enjoy behind-the-scenes tours, which are hard to schedule when you have kids in tow. (Some of them have age restrictions, most of them wouldn't hold a kid or teen's attention.)

I was going to recommend Victoria and Albert's as a wonderful thing to do as a couple at least once. Seeing that you're there during F&W Festival, you may also want to enjoy one of the special events associated with that. We had an absolute blast at one of the France Regional Lunches, and always enjoy both the cooking demonstrations and mixology sessions. We've never had our timing right to do a dessert reception or the Party for the Senses, which I really, really would love to do one day.

Other romantic things to consider are dinner at Port Orleans followed by a carriage ride, fireworks from the California Grill, or a couples massage at one of the Spas.

We absolutely love the Wishes fireworks cruises, but to be honest, since you pay the same price for the boat whether it's just you or the whole family, this is one to save for when you do have the kids along.
