Adult Only Itinerary for WDW?

Well, I got sent here from Slickdeals and I have to say, you guys might just have as many threads as they do! I tried my best to search through here, but didn't come up with much luck.

Boyfriend and I will be headed to Disney World at the beginning of January, and we have never been. We are originally from the west coast (me - CA), so I have been to Disneyland plenty of times, but never Disney World. I found touringplans.com had some "adult 1 day" trips listed, but didn't have a suggested order that you visit each attraction. We have 4-day park hoppers, so planning on spending one day per park...and have to find a way to fit Downtown Disney in there too. I know, not a lot of time, but we'll make do! There is just so much info on WDW that it overwhelms me and I don't know where to start.

I was wondering if there was a comprehensive list of must-see attractions for adults only? Thanks in advance!

P.S. Mostly "need to know" now to pick fast passes+ for the magic bands before Dec 1.

Disneyland has a lot of the main attractions show you should know your way around the magic kingdom at least. Fantasyland is new, have fun exploring it.

But the park you really want is EPCOT. That is made for adults in mind. The first half is all tech stuff, and you can gets hands on and play with it. I was last there in 2000 and at that time there was a huge area that was just computer games and you can play as long as you like...for FREE.

the second half is pavilions from around the world. Good eats, Photo ops, and one of a kind souvenirs.
---The fireworks at Epcot are the best in Disney too, or so I've heard.

Animal Kingdom is also unique. You'll love exploring it.

Here are some of my tips and I have been going to WDW since '71, EPCOT 13 times in the first year alone, and all the other parks.

Are you planning on staying onsite, if so make use of the new MDE to get fast-passes for three rides per day at one park. I know this is your first time and you feel like you will never get back. Plan on spending some time at your resort relaxing (you are on vacation), build in some downtime, do not schedule yourself to push all day/night, or you will go home unsatisfied with your trip.

MK-Take a full day
AK-You can do most everything in 3/4 day
MGM-I know new name DHS (dislike that name, too much like old high school initials)-You can do most everything there in 1/2 day
EPCOT-More than 1 day. As adults you want to plan some of your alcohol intaking around the world showcase.
DTD-Shopping, eating places, movies, bowling, music (concerts and free), live shows, etc. Plan an evening there.

Other things to do depending upon what you are into:
sports: golf, fishing, RPDE, marathon, bowling, ESPN Club, WWS/ESPN Zone, etc
shopping: DTD, area outlet malls, large scale malls
drinking: Jellyrolls, Raglan Road, monorail tour of resorts, walking tour of resorts in the Boardwalk area
movies: DTD 24 screen theater some with meals served by waiters
night clubbing: Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, Raglan Road, Citywalk
resort tours: monorail tour of resorts, Boardwalk around the lake tour of resorts, AKL/AKV
offsite: Gaylord Palms Resort, Citywalk, swamp tour

Thanks to both of you. Looks like we will go to AK when we arrive and Hollywood Studios when we leave, since we will be arriving late and leaving early. Tried booking some dining reservations but man do you all get on it early! Going to have to call closer to tthe date to see if anything opens up.

Great ideas from everyone! I would suggest you try every now and then to look for meal reservations, something may come available before you know it. We had trouble when we decided to go to the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival only 4 weeks out. I kept calling as was able to secure some ressies at a couple of our favorite spots.

We often go without the kids and enjoy JellyRolls.. It's a fun place. If you are anywhere near Port Orleans Resort, Yehaa Bob is also a great entertainer.

Great list that I agree with.
But I would consider MGM/DHS as a full day. Tower of Tower, Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, Great Movie Ride, Toy Story Mania, Star tours, Muppets 3-D, Indiana Jones Stunt Show, Beauty and the Beast Stage Show, the backstage tour,the Extreme Stunt Show, and Fantasmic at the end of the day.

We do the ride parks in the day, spend time at the pool (me napping) and end the day walking the WS at Epcot, hitting ESPN / clubs for later nights.

DTD - Splitsville is fun

DHS - Personally find Fantasmic a 'kid' feature - went 3 times and, as our kids were older, no one really enjoyed it as fully as the 6 to 10 year old group. It took us a while to figure out what we were missing
