We have invited our adult kids and grandson to join us for a week vacation in September. They will be arriving on a later flight than us so we will pick them up after we check into our 3 bedroom at Wyndham Bonnet creek. I was wanting to leave "goodie/welcome" bags for them in their bedrooms but I don't really know what to get. So far all I have is a Disney gift card they can use for snacks in the parks as meals will be on us. Any other ideas you can share? They are going to HHN at Universal one night while we take our grandson to MNSSHP. Do they sell Universal gift cards? I've never looked.

They do sell Universal Gift Cards, I got mine in a grocery in another state. We did a all adult family trip. We gave them each a WDW Gift card that could cover one QS per day, Universal Gift card that could cover one QS per day. We had breakfast foods in unit, pack your lunch if you want foods in unit, and we paid for a couple dinners at TS. Worked out great since with all that we had covered their meals. They were buying their own snacks and alcoholic drinks.

One time for a Disney and Universal trip with my family we are all adults I got them gift cards for both and some little things such as Disney themed toothbrushes, Disney and Universal lanyards, pens, etc. I think I got some of that off of Amazon. And shirts either from Etsy or the Disney Store.

T shirts, snacks for in the room, sun screen, Mickey ears or baseball caps/ hats. Not sure of the kids ages, but coloring books, small toys to play with in the room. Beach towels, refillable wter bottles. My sister’s 3 yo granddaughter had some kind of kid’s digital camera, so she could take her own photos. It was adorable, characters would pose when they saw her taking pictures. She got good at it. Now she's 6 & takes great photos.

how old is the grandson? i was thinking along the same lines of this kind of stuff as well for younger kids. we used to also do travel size games we could play with them at night, a disney themed pillow case (does double duty as a dirty laundry bag on return in the suitcase :teeth: ), if they will do autographs a disney themed autograph book (much less at walmart than at the parks) and a pen on a lanyard. there's tons of disney themed stuff at the dollar store that we used to snag and take to surpise the kids.

Just did this. Gift card, small fan with a wrist strap, sunscreen (a spray can or roll-on plus a face stick) and a new small Body Glide to prevent blisters and chafing. A couple of carabiner clips can come in handy. If they are drinkers, perhaps some single-serve Liquid IV packets for getting re-hydrated.

Previously I'd given them each a small double-wall metal water bottle. (The 12-oz bottle size meant for kids are perfect for parks because they are lighter to carry and take up much less space than a full-size bottle. If they are disposable-bottle folks, one of those little rubber ring-clip gadgets is useful.)

My guests were females; guys would probably better appreciate a hat than a fan; I notice that younger men tend to think that fans are a nuisance. A wicking-fabric baseball cap in a lighter color is a great option.

PS: Ponchos I did not list because we're in the habit of just putting out a big bag of them by the door so that anyone can take what they need. I buy them from Amazon in quantity. We really like these, which in the large pack cost the same as the Dollar-store cheapies, and are the same size folded, but are just a *tad* thicker so they don't rip easily, and include a string drawstring in the hood, so it actually stays in place on your head (and the hood fits DH, who has a large head and can't wear standard-sized hats): HouSou rain ponchos

Thank you for all the ideas. I will be looking for Universal gift cards and a few other things. The baby is 4 so he is easy, it's the adult kids that have me scratching my head.

We would always take the fans with water bottles for the kids so we could buy them far less expensively than the ones in the parks. My DS especially loved them. We'd also get them glow bracelets and necklaces to wear and they'd give some out to other kids in the parks, especially during fireworks or Fantasmic, thought we always ask the parents before we offer them to the kids.

Ponchos are also an idea for your basket. You can also buy cute ears on Etsy.

We included several of the things already mentioned here, - the sunscreen stick, lip balm with spf, and smaller water bottles were especially appreciated. I also included a mini first aid kit, a mini sewing kit, a sunscreen stick, and lip balm with spf. In the first aid kit I included several blister prevention and blister treatment bandages and a few single dose packets of some common pain relievers.

What about Magic Bands for everyone. I know you can't use for food /drinks. But would still come in handy for Park Tickets and Genie+ if you will be using that.

While it is thoughtful to buy lip balm, sunscreen, etc I could never do that for our son and DIL. She has allergies and buys certain brands. They are both picky about their clothes, as we are. Little kids are a different story so go for it!

Honestly, I think it is best to give gift cards as much as you feel comfortable with. You can wrap them up and place them in a nice little gift bag. We also treat them to snacks and meals when we are at the parks but that is our choice. They always thank us with a meal or two. It just works out.

Enjoy!
