Okay, obviously if there is a kids menu, the kids have to order off of that, but can an adult (paying the DDP adult rate) order something off the kids menu for his/her meal?

We have never encountered any problems with ordering off of the kids menu until last week. Counter service is easy to order a child's meal. As adults (over 21), we have ordered a child's meal only occasionally at TS . However, last week at Kona's, my niece (11) was charged for an adult cheeseburger even though she received a child's burger. She was not allowed any of the things included with the child's meal (ex. dessert). The waitress told us this up front even though I told her my niece had no problems ordering off of the child's menu earlier in the week. She wanted to give us the adult burger since we had to pay for it anyway but we declined since the food would have been wasted. We were on the DP and my niece ordered off of the regular menu most of the time but she did not like anything on Kona's menu. I was going to get a manager involved but it was not worth the aggravation to me on that particular night.
Edited to add that were were 5 adults on the dining plan. My adult niece joined us for dinner that night so we had to pay out of pocket for at least one meal. I was willing to pay for an adult meal but since DN11 only wanted a small burger without all the "fancy stuff" the child's meal seemed the likely choice. There is so much food on the DDP that we never orderd all of the appetizers and desserts all week anyway. (Except at Le Cellier-yummy!) DN11 is very petite and the server assumed she was under 9 until I was honest and told her that she is actually 11. I suppose I should have kept my mouth shut!

By the way, we did not like Konas. The food was OK but the service stank. Our waitress was not the least bit friendly. The food was delayed. The salt shaker was broken and the salt poured out on my niece's french fries. I reported it to the waitress and she was supposed to get new fries. Never happened. I also mentioned to the waitress she should remove the broken salt shaker so it won't happen to the next guest. Never happened. After we left my family went to the restrooms so I watched our table being cleared and the salt shaker remained. As a new family was getting ready to be seated, I went back in and grabbed the shaker and gave it to the hostess at the front desk. Our family is pretty easy to please and this was our only bad experience for the week.
