We are heading to the world without children for the FIRST TIME ever :cool1:
They aren't too happy with us...
Anyway, we've eaten at many restaurants on property, but most have been kid oriented/character. We're looking to try out some of the "nicer" adult restaurants, but aren't sure where to start!
We've heard mixed reviews about California Grill, and I'm not a fan of fish.
Any suggestions/reviews are greatly appreciate! The countdown is on :woohoo:

DH and I like to joke that we go to Disney for the food. Here is our list of favorite places to eat on property that are more geared for adults.

Victoria & Albert's
Jiko
California Grill
Flying Fish
Portobello
Artist Point

So fun! We're two adults traveling for my 30th, and we planned a dinner for each night. Here's our list:

Jiko
Ohana
Be Our Guest
California Grill
Yachtsman Steakhouse
San Angel Inn
Flying Fish
Le Cellier

It's a mix of great food (Jiko, Flying Fish) and some places that are fun to kick back with a drink or two (Ohana, San Angel Inn). Have fun!

We have eaten at O'hana (several times because we love it so much) as well as San Angel Inn and Le Cellier (right before the price increase). Be Our Guest is on our list of must try, but alas we will wait for the kids  We obviously both have good taste :worship:
I've been hearing some mixed reviews on California Grill lately, so since you will be traveling before us, I would definitely be interested in hearing if you think it's worth it!
calypso726: I agree 100%! Hence, we will be there during Food & Wine Festival!
As of now we won't be doing the dining plan. DW doesn't like to eat a large breakfast or lunch so we typically pack. For the value, I don't think it's worth it to essentially waste the QS credits...but we will definitely be doing a price comparison to double check, especially if we plan on dining at some of the more pricey TS restaurants.

We've done Be Our Guest for both lunch and dinner. The food was great but the atmosphere isn't what I'd call adult oriented IF that is whats someone is looking for. Plus, there are always lot of kids around.

Wow that is disconcerting to hear. I've never had a bad meal or bad service at the California Grill. Admittedly though, we have not been back since the refurbish.

Last year it took us 4 weekends straight to try every single food item at F&W :rotfl2: We've never purchased the dining plan since it doesn't fit our eating habits. We find our best value is with Tables In Wonderland since you get 20% off of food and alcohol at over 100 restaurants in WDW. It is available for Passholders, Florida residents and DVC members. We visit quite often so the card pays for itself in short order.

DW and I went in August 2012 without kids.

Very much enjoyed California Grill but that was before the makeover
Brown Derby was very good
Chef de France was great as a couple
DW really enjoys Raglan Road
Yak & Yeti can be a nice quiet meal

We will only be at F&W for a few days, so I guess we will have to choose wisely ;)

I'm thinking we will wait for the kids for Be Our Guest. This will most likely be our first and last adult only trip until our youngest is in college

Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely do a price comparison with Tables of Wonderland as well!

Thank you everyone! Now our list of "Must Try" restaurants far exceeds our number of nights

We'll keep a running list and just plan on dining at some of these on future trips. I guess we'll need to take a babysitter so we can enjoy some of them without kids!

Raglan road and portabello were nice. Yak and yeti was good too

Our favorites are:

Yachtsman Steakhouse
Flying Fish
Le Cellier
Raglan Road
'Ohana

We've decided that we will definitely book Jiko and CA Grill when our book window opens.
We do need one more, and want to try places we've never been (LOVE O'hana & Le Cellier but we've been to both). We're thinking Citricos or Big River Grille & Brew Works on the Boardwalk.
Choosing just three for this trip is proving to be rather challenging! Thank you for all your suggestions.

River Grille is nice to eat outside giving a great view - they don't rush you off so you can relax.

For us, we never enjoyed the various lounges when the kids were along so that's where we head now. The Crew Cup has great atmosphere, the ESPN is fun, the Raglan Road and the Rose n' Crown bar area.

Have you looked at the menu at Artist Point? I would definitely recommend for an adults only meal. I love the atmosphere and the food was delicious.

We don't have kids and we went January 2013 and splurged on the deluxe dining plan and ate at a signature restaurant most nights. Our list was:

California Grill - you already have this on your list but to let you know, our food was really good, great service, and we took a break between the main course and dessert to watch the fireworks. There was no rush and we were able to relax and have a three course meal and wine at a nice leisurely pace!

Jiko - looks like you've already booked this too and I think that's a great choice!! It's a beautiful restaurant and it was a nice, slow meal with time to chat with the DH. Plus you can walk outside and ask for night vision goggles to try and see the animals on the savannah after dinner.

Artist Point - the lobby at WL is gorgeous. We had great service at every restaurant we ate at but the server here was spectacular! And the food was very good. I really enjoyed the dessert.

Le Cellier - you've eaten here so I have nothing new to add!

O'Hana - same comment as Le Cellier
