Well today things actually go rather smoothly. Dbf decides he would like to go to AK today. Alright....I have no ps's made until later but I do have a plan. I tell him about Boma and he agrees to this for breakfast. Really fast bus trip to AK and then a bus arrives about 5 min. later to AKL....perfect! Get to Akl...and inquire if the have seating available for b-fast. I expected a little bit of a wait. The Cm tells us ...sure....we'll be right with you. Well he wasn't kidding. We were seated within 5 min. Breakfast was great !! We had a nice table in the corner by the windows. After breakfast we decide to take a walk around the resort. DBF falls in love with it. He asks what my three top choices for resorts are ...no matter the price. Could he actually be planning the next vacation????? I tell him GF, Polynesian, and AKL. We walk around a bit and he loves the pool and hot tub. Hung out a while and checked out the flamingos. I had to pull him away so we could head over to AKL. On the way ....he says...when we get back to the room...why don't you call about the comeback rate for Poly and AKL. What ??? do my ears decieve me??? He wants to come back again this year ????? I play it cool and say ok..we'll check it out. Inside I am doing the I'm going to wdw dance.
Head over to AK...and see the talking tree and a bunch of characters as we enter. We go to guest services and see if we can still get in the preferred viewing area for the parade. She says sure.
Decide we'll get a FP for the safari and head over to dinosaur. On the way we see Lilo and Stitch. I wanted to take a pic with them but just as we got there they went on a break...oh well...we'll try later. Get to the safari and there is only a 5 min wait...so we get in line. The safari was great...never saw so many animals on the safari before. I got great pics. Decide to do the walk through afterwards. Wow....this is great. Again tons of cool animals. DBF takes an interest in the silverback gorillas. We also saw the whole gorilla family together. The Cm says this almost never happens. DBF is determined he has to get a stuffed silverback since I convince him he can't have a real one. We exit the trail and head over to dinosaur. We love this ride...and there is only a 10 min wait....can this day get any better???? After dinosaur ...on to primeavel whirl. I thought this was a really cute ride. I want to see the Lion King show....so we head over there. Wait about 15 min until they let us in. I absolutely loved this show. DBF took me to see the broadway version for my bd...so it was kinda special. The show is like a mini version of the broadway one. Decide to do lunch....figure we'll get out just in time for the paraded. On to Rainforest cafe. We are seated in about 15 min. We have a great meal here but it takes a little longer than I expected....and we miss the parade....oh well...maybe next time.
Decide to check a couple shops for a stuffed silverback...but no luck. We then head down to the dd westside to credit dbf's credit card for the cirque tickets. Ok ...now we have to book !!! We need to go back, change , and head over to the poly for the luau.
No prob....dbf is proud of me at how quickly I get ready. Make it to the poly with time to spare !!!!! woo hoo. It is soooo romantic here. We wait in line to get in and things are going wonderfully except for......the 2 children behind us. I definitely remember their names because I must've heard them about 200x in the 15 min we waited. These 2 children fought...and wrestled ...and ran into people....and yelled and wrestled some more...and yelled some more. We finally get up to the entry...get lei'd and to the seating desk. I tell dbf if these people are seated next to us....I may lose it. Yes...there is a god!!!! The unruly family behind us was supposed to be at the 5:00 show...and there are no extra seats. Ok,maybe this is a little mean spirited....but you had to be there to experience them yourself. We got great seats due to my efficient planning. DBF really enjoys the show and won't stop talking about it. Afterwards we take a walk on the beach..share some romantic moments and head back towards Tambu lounge for some drinks. On the way we see the cutest elderly couple .... in there motorized wheelcahir type things...bickering back and forth...yelling at each other to wait and where to make the turn...when finally the one yells to the other ...you are so mean. DBF and I crack up....both visualizing how in 30 or so years that is going to be us still going to wdw and yelling at each other....with love of course. Ok, into the Tambu lounge I order a pina colada and dbf orders a zombie. This is where we meet Mr. Minnesota. So we all chat for a while as dbf and Mr Minnesota get progressively more toasted. After about an hour and ahalf of hearing the same story from Mr. M and watching dbf nod and agree ...all the while knowing they are both drunk as a skunk...we say our goodbyes and head back. We wait for a bus outside the poly as dbf falls asleep on the bench only to wake up every few minutes and mumble about there being no bus. After about 30 min dbf goes into his tirade about there being no bus and we'll be stuck here and go find someone and there is no bus....I tell him ...there is a bus coming now...he argues w/ me that there is no bus until and as we are actually getting on it. Sits down and falls asleep. I vow ....either no more Zombies for him or I at least need to have video camera on hand if he does.
Get back to resort and pass out !!!
