Going to be attending a Halloween party and we have no idea what we should dress up as.

Anyone have any good, easy ideas for the two of us?

Years ago, my friend and I went as "hefty and wimpy' garbage bags.
We ussed masking tape to label the front of the bags.

haha nice. I remember seeing someone in a black garbage bag and said they were a raisin.

I would love to get a pair of round sunglasses, a blonde wig with bangs and sever straight cut, paint my lips only in the center and look like Lagy GaGa;)
I think that would be a lot of fun.

Best couples costume I ever saw was my parents, with my mom dressed as Peter Pan and my Dad dressed as Tinkerbell.

DH and I are having a hard time with this, too. We have a lot of good ideas, we just can't decide on any. Every one seems to have something wrong with it, mostly that we don't think anyone will know who we are. Having previously spent the whole party evening explaining our costumes to people, we'd like to avoid that in the future. But we also don't want to be boring. Sample conversation:

DH (comic book geek)- "Hey, we could go as Green Arrow and Black Canary!"

Me- "Except everyone would think you were Robin Hood and I was a slut."

Anyways, I think DH has decided to go as Mitchell Hundred (which about 2 people at the party other than me will get), and I'm thinking of going as the girl from the Cake song "Short Skirt/Long Jacket". What do you think, too esoteric? It's that or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I don't know...DBF and I were Hercules & Meg at the DCA ToT Party and no one knew who I was....Plenty of people knew who he was, he got compliments all over the place, everyone looked at me weird. LOL

Our other choices were
Jessica & Roger
Tink & Peter (most likely me as Peter)
Sally & Jack
Salt & Pepper
Ketchup & Mustard

Last year we were a cowboy & saloon gal, the year before cowboy and Indian maid.

mine is cheap. pig nose and a pair of wings...

Mikeeee

DH and I went as a priest and a pregnant nun one year.

At MNSSHP this year, I went as Linguini (from Ratatuoille) - did the chef shirt, the toque, and had a cheap play rat from a pet store tucked up in it. People would ask what I was making for dinner, and I would take off the hat, pull out the rat, and tell them to ask "Little Chef" - their reaction told me whether or not they had seen the film.

we always go the gory route...one of my fave's is Little Dead Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf...I have one of my arms hidden inside my blouse( the red cape helps hide it) and we have a fake one in the "Wolves" mouth....one of the fake rubber ones you buy.
Dead Bride and Groom, Vampire and Bat, pirate /wench, I hear Bernie Madoff is popular this year..you could be a riches ro rags high society type and your DH could be Bernie..or there is Al Gore and a polar bear,

one of our tackiest...( I admit it was REALLY tacky, but it was perfect for the theme of the party) anyway...I was a stewardess from US Air, the year they had a plane crash...I was basically like a zombie and my mantra was US.Air, we almost get you there" and DH was one of the pilots, also zombie .

And the SCARIEST costume ever?

DD went as a "student loan" once ...:lmao: yep, that is :scared1:
She and her BF won a contest at college last year as Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovette...complete with pie with body part emerging out of it....like I said, we go the gory route,

Have fun deciding!

I started a thread about this, but deleted when i saw one existed already. This was my post:

I've been to a few Halloween parties as an adult, where many of the people didn't dress up and I had an ok time. But this year I'm invited to a serious Halloween party where the hosts are having fog machines, a DJ, and are planning on dressing up almost Hollywood horror level. I have no idea what to wear! My DH is a tennis player and he's wearing his tennis duds with fake bruises, cuts, blood etc all over him. I was thinking of going as Carrie with the fake pig blood on me, but I can't stand the thought of having that crap on me all night.

Any ideas?

One year my best guy friend and I went as Lois and Peter from Family Guy to a college halloween party. It was so easy to find our outfits from a thrift store and almost everyone knew who were.

If the shirt I ordered arrives in time: Sookie from True Blood
Plan B: Gwen Cooper from Torchwood

DH and I went as a pair of dice one year. We won 1st prize.

Easy costume--2 square boxes, painted white, and dots painted on. Hole for your head, and bottom left open.

This year my husband and I will be a pilot & stewardess. my DD has been tring to come up with a couple costume. She finally decided on Little Miss Muffet and the Spider. Her other choices were Beetle juice & Lydia,
Prego Juno & her boyfirend dressed in his jogging outfit. (I can't think of his name) I saw in a magazine Pigs in a blanket. The couple was wearing a double snuggie with pig noses. I thought how cute easy and comfortable too. :lmao:

A friend said she saw an idea online.. wear pig's ears & noses & write H1 on one shirt & N1 on the other.
