My son-in-law wants to plan a birthday surprise for my daughter while we are at Disney. Our days in the park are Monday, June 1 and Thursday, June 4.
He would like to do something creative but isn't really sure all that Disney can offer.
Any and all suggestions are welcome! (We do know you can order cakes.)
Also, it can be in the parks, at DTD or restaurants at resorts. We are staying at VGC.

Thank you so much!

Disney guest services would be more than happy to assist with special planning.

On the second page of your reservation you can find a number for Vacation Planning. They will he

My husband ordered a cake for me....soooo yummy.... and when we had dinner at the Carnation Cafe.....the staff all came out and sang Happy birthday to me! Now I have had wait staff sing to me before at restaurants, but it was different at Disneyland. It was very special. You could also make her a special hat. I bought a headband birthday hat at party city and added mouse ears to it. It got lots of compliments.

Is she into fancy drinks with a show? If so maybe take her to Trader Sams for a signature drink and appies.

What type of shows do they have at Trader Sams? I hear it mentioned a lot on the boards!

Did your husband request that they sing to you Or did they do it because he had ordered the cake?? Thanks!

:rolleyes1He did not make the request... I actually ordered the cake because he does none of the planning. Which is okay with me because I get exactly what I want lol

LOL! My mom always said, "if you want it done right; do it yourself! ;) Certainly better than being disappointed!!

They have different things that happen within the bar when someone orders a certain drink.

If you check on YouTube you will be able to see videos of the activities.

We went for the first time in March and had so much fun......we will definitely be going back again. :drinking1:thumbsup2

You could order in-room celebrations for your stay at CGH (LINK) They set it all up before your arrival. They can also bring a cake if you want. It's pricey but very cool if you can afford it.

Some other fun suggestions:

-Going to character breakfast at Minnies at Plaza Inn, where they call out occasionally for anyone with a B-day to stand up to get some attention. Fairy Godmother is also a regular there and the birthday person could make a B-Day wish
- Don't forget your B-day pin either when you check-in to the hotel or when you arrive at the park!
- You could hang out by Jolly Holiday Bakery outside in the morning/early afternoon, as I've seen Alice and the Mad Hatter there very often, and you could possibly request a round of "A Very Merry Un-Birthday".

Hope you have a nice trip!

Depending on the budget, perhaps your SIL could book a facial/manicure/massage for your DD at Mandara Spa in the GCH. Cakes are always fun. If your dietary needs will affect the type of cake, you could call the Whole Foods in Tustin before you visit to see what their bakery offers. We've brought our own cake to Storyteller's, and the CMs sang to our youngest. Dinner at the chef's counter at Napa Rose might be fun, if that's the sort of thing your DD would enjoy. If she likes Disney handbags, he can get her a Dooney or a Harveys bag. Or a Pandora bracelet with charms picked out to commemorate this trip. Or a print from the Disney Gallery (he can use the computer kiosk to pick from their selection). Would she enjoy a guided tour? He can see what's available and then book what she would like best.
