ADRs when going with another family

Hi, everyone!
I haven't been on these boards since my last trip two years ago, but I had a question and this was the first place I thought of.

We are going with another family this time. They are DVCers and invited us along. They've already made a few ADRs for us as a group, but they are doing a lot of breakfasts that we are not going to be doing and will not be doing dinners in the parks. So, I was going to make some dinner ADRs for just my family.

I know how to do the ADRs because I've done them for past trips, but my questions is...can I make them since we are staying under their name, their reservation, etc?

She gave me the reservation number and the last four digits of her social security number. But will this work? Am I going to have to pretend to be her? That seems a little over the top to me. And will I be able to use my own credit card to book it, or will I have to have hers?

Any help y'all could give me would be greatly appreciated! And I DID to a search, but came up with nothing. Thanks again!

Hi,

You don't need a credit card to make ADRs unless you will be booking CRT(and one or two others).

ANYONE can make reservations 90 days out. You don't need to have a package or a room booked. All they will ask you for is a phone number.

And that's what I thought with the ADRs, but the other family threw me when the wife told me I needed to have the ressie number and her ssn digits. I wanted to make sure before I called! So, thanks!

You don't need to have a reservation number to make ADRs up to 90 days out. If you want to take advantage of the "+10" rule for resort guests, you would need a reservation number.

Assuming your name is listed as a guest on the reservation, you should be able to do this with your name and the reservation #.

The ssn makes me thing she's assuming you're going to reserve through Member services. But, if you're trying to get CRT, you want to use Disney Dining, they open earlier!

For most of the meals I will be booking for all four of us at the same table but there are a couple of meals that we are doing separately. Can I book DS and DDIL's ADR's along with ours as long as I have their reservation number? Since we are booking together for many of the meals and they have the same last name as ours I thought it might be OK. DS and DDIL work early in the morning so they can't call in at 7:00 AM.

I booked all of our ADR's last year. Some were for my niece and myself and the others were for my neighbours.

I gave them my phone # and that was it-except for CRT (credit card #). No reservation # just my phone #.

Yes, you can book for them as well. I was actually going to let the other family we're going with book ours for us, but I wanted to be able to play around with the times if I needed to.
