It's me again!!!:lmao:

Do you guys make adrs for your arrival night after flying in from the UK??? If so what time do you make them for??

We are planning on booking the early Virgin flight, so do you think we would be 'safe' to book a 6.30pm adr at the hotel restaurant??:confused3:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

If you are flying from London the early flight only lands at 3:30, while Manchester early flight arrives at 2.30. if your flight is on time you should be able to make it in time for a 6:30 adr although it may be a little rushed, If i was to book an adr for arrival night I would book it for after 7.

I don't usually book ADR's for arrival night, it's my first time onsight next year with free dining, I am planning on using my counter service first night and saving the table credit for another day or for a signature dining or dinner show.

Personally i wouldnt book an ARD again for the first night as we did it last time and we were far too tired to appreciate it at all. We will be just getting a conter service meal like at the Early of Sandwich at DTD. Obviously its personal choice though and i see you will be booking it for your resort hotel so that may be easier than travelling somewhere. I would have thought it might be rather tight time wise though. If you booked it slightly later say 7.30 you wouldnt have a rush...good luck and enjoy your holiday!

We don't make ADRs for arrival night - last year we were on the 'early' flight but, due to delays, didn't arrive at our hotel until 1am.

We're normally all too tired to bother going out on the first night so usually make do with Counter Service or, in the past when we've stayed off-site popped to Dennys for a quick dinner.

If you really want a sit-down meal on your first night, I would say you would be fairly safe with anything after 6:30/7 pm, barring any delays, but don't book anything that you would be sad to miss if you don't make it.

Thanks everyone!!:thumbsup2

I was only considering booking an ADR as we will be staying at the Beach Club and it doesn't sounds as though they have many counter service options.

But I don't think I will want to worry about rushing to ADRs as you've said, so I think we'll either try our luck at Beaches n Cream or there is always room service if the wait is too long!!:lovestruc

thanks again!!:thumbsup2

We're the same, we don't really eat much that 1st night. The only time we did we couldn't sleep for feeling too full. We normally go for a CS meal now, although last year myself, DH & DD only had a muffin-of course DS aged 15 had to have a meal  Teenagers!

With the time change etc I'd be too tired to appreciate a proper meal.

When we stay at the BCV we usually get room service when we arrive. This year we are staying at the AKL so we are going to book a 7:30 ADR for Boma. We figured that way we are eating in the hotel. We are on the 2:30 flight from Manchester so hopefully that will be OK. If we are late then we will just have to skip the ADR and it will give us another credit for a different day. I know when we fly to Orlando I am OK to stay up quite late after we arrive.

We always travel on the 2.30 Manchester flight and last year was at our resort (FWC) by 4.00pm, I think it helped travelling PE, but either way you should easily manage a 7.30 ADR, you could even go for earlier.

Last year we made a 6.30 ADR and regretted not going for earlier as Jet Lag was really kicking in by 7pm.

Some 3 years ago we also stayed at AKL, I dont if you've been before but the lighting is really dim and cosy in Boma and could easily send the most insomia prone person to sleep. Fantastic Resort though :thumbsup2

I'm normally in bed by half seven!!! first night we always have great plans but they never get done! Normally we get a counter service and then dont eat any of it as we are so tired!! we normally get the early lgw flight so are normally at the hotel by half 5 6 maybe

Awww, I had planned to eat at 'Ohanas on our first night and watch the fireworks from Poly beach to start the holiday with a bang! I figured my two, being young, would sleep on the plane, so would be ok for dinner but not so sure now lol :(

Yes we have eaten at Boma before, we really like it there. We are more used to flying to the west coast when we fly to America (LA/Las Vegas) so the shorter flight and lesser time difference in Orlando doesn't bother us too much. I guess thats why we are OK staying up later when we arrive. We fly PE too so it is good to know that we might be at the resort by 4, although we are using magical express this time rather than renting a car like we usually go so I guess it might be later.

Hi Amy - It depends on the age of your kids and also how tired you get yourself. I made an ADR for the first night at 1900 Park Fair when they were very small and my DD slept right through it.

Now they are older, they do tend to want to have a meal when we get there. I would probably make an ADR but make it so you don't have to travel too far to get to it. I would say 6.30pm is definitely do-able if you're flying with Virgin.

One thing I would not do again is visit a park on the first night. We have done this twice and felt totally wiped out.

thanks everyone!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Our children will be 3 and 6 when we go next year, last year they were 4 and 9mths and we ate in the hotel room, but that meant they both fell asleep really early and were awake in the middle of the night for a few days!!:scared1::lmao:

So I will try to keep them up a little later this time, so it will either be an adr at Cape May Cafe (which might be ok as at least it is a buffet if the children are tired, rather than waiting to be served) or we will risk Beaches n Cream and hope the wait isn't too bad!!

thanks again for all the advice!!:thumbsup2
