We're headed to DIS with my inlaws, perhaps :confused3, in mid-October. We are a family of 4 (me, DH, DD-7, DS-14months), and when we were planning this, my inlaws jumped on board. Now, 71 days out....they're starting to back paddle. My MIL's mother isn't doing well, and while they just booked a week trip to the Keys in a month, going to WDW for a week seems like it may be not the best idea due to Granny's failing health. Sigh...I'm really not heartless, it's just that this is the "girl that cried wolf story" with different characters!

But here's my issue: I've made all of our ADRs for 6 people. If they bail completely, or scale back and only stay a few days instead of the 7 we are staying, do I have to cancel my current ADRs for a party of 6 and start over, or is it easy enough to downgrade them from a party of 6 to a party of 4 for those meals they'll miss? TIA!

Call when you know for sure (if you know for sure ;)) and see what Disney says. If they're able to downgrade them, no problem, if not, then just keep them as they are.

Unless you have a prepaid meal planned (CRT, HDDR, etc), then you will not be charged the no-show/cancellation fees for partial parties. You shouldn't get any flack at the podiums either, if you do, just explain that 2 members of the party backed out.

Won't be an issue at all, really.

Thanks Cafeen! That's what I sort of imagined. We have some character dining (Chef Mickeys, 1900 Fare...), so I'll call on those when I know what's going on! This is why I don't like to travel with others! ;)

If you look at the new rules on WDW website, you will not be penalized for reducing your party size. You only get charged if you do not show up. I would keep your ressies the way they are.

:thumbsup2 Thanks! Great to know that's the official rules.
