Hi everyone,
Just returned from Disney. Thanks to everyone who contributes to these boards! So much useful information!

OK...so I am taking the risk of sounding like a total moron but I will tell this story so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Maybe this has been covered in some earlier post but I was totally unaware. Maybe I have a cheap smartphone (HTC snap) and should just get on the wagon and get an Iphone. Maybe I am just technologically challenged.

I entered all my ADRS in my smartphone calendar...makes sense... including reservation numbers.

On the first day of our trip we decide to cancel our first reservation. So on a busride from POR to park I call to cancel. I notice that she has the reservation for an hour different than what I had in my calendar...no big deal...I probably entered it wrong. Whew! That was close...good thing we weren't standing there to check in and find out the reservation was an hour EARLIER.

Keep in mind FL is an hour ahead of Chicago! So as we are charting out our next day I decide to call and confirm our lunch reservation at SciFi. Oops...an hour earlier than I expected!!!!! Good thing I called! I looked at my calendar for later in the week and then realized I couldn't possibly have made a reservation at LeCellier for 10:10 pm! Something is up.

So what it comes down to is that my Smart phone was trying to be a little too "smart" and changed all my calendar entries an hour later to adjust for the time change!!!! There is probably some setting in my phone to prevent it from doing that but geez...I had no idea.

As I was sitting waiting for our table at SciFi I heard some other lady come to check in and she was an hour late...do you think the same thing happened to her?

I hope someone else here can avoid this mistake I made. Thanks!!!!!

Eek, I wouldn't have thought a phone would do this! Thank you; I had just started thinking about putting them all into my Palm.

I entered all of mine into a Google calendar, making sure that I specified that it was EST :). I also have it set to send me a text 1 hour before, just in case. We'll see how it all works in ~3 weeks.

This happened to me too! Luckily, my offset was three hours, so I figured out something was wrong really quickly. :)

TY, I never thought of that. Maybe Mouse Memo auto adjusts because I haven't encountered that issue. Now that you mention it you can bet I'll be checking:thumbsup2

That happened to me too, but my iphone's calendar was stuck on Central Time instead of determining the timezone itself. I changed the timezone on my calendar and everything adjusted properly. I didn't have to change any appointments.

I used Mouse Memo two years ago and it auto-adjusted the times. I reported it to them and they fixed it in a later release. I also enter our itinerary into ical and specify the time zone. It's a good thing I'm type-A and brought a print out with me, as well.
