We just got back a week ago from a last minute trip. I planned it 2 weeks in advance and got every ADR on the dates and times I wanted. We've decided to go again in 27 days and I called today and once again got exactly what I wanted on the first day I asked for. I thought for sure during free dining that wasn't possible. Is it getting easier to get ADR's or have I just been extremely lucky?

Now, I'd say just the opposite, I think it will be crazy busy for free dining, But a few weeks ago when I was able to make changes to exactly what I wanted at the times I wanted them! I easily cancelled three or four things, booked times and places I wanted and found most restaurants to have a good amount of empty tables. Most of our changes were due to the changes that we noticed in restuarants--small portions, limited choices and quality not up to our expectations, if I want Applebees quality I will eat at Applebees and save the $$.
I never book on the first day of hte booking window, I usually wait until about a month or two form when we are going unless it is a dinner show or a special request for an occasion--Birthday, Anniversary, etc.

We are going for NY and changed my ADRs numerous times (for touring purposes). Always got what I wanted, yet I was fairly flexible for times (lunch at 1:3-PM is great, and we usually have dinner around 7, which was available for out 3 dinners). I even managed to get dinner ADRs at 1900 Park Fare on Dec. 31st (which I ended up changing to another day, because we decided to watch the early Illuminations in Epcot that evening)--then again, I guess most people will stay in the parks that day because of reaching capacity...
My point is, I found it fairly easy to book ADRs, so long as there is a certain flexibility with times.

I've gotten Chef Mickey, Garden Grill, San Angel, cap N Jacks, 50s prime Time.

Maybe it has something to do with the menu changes that were suppose to start this weekend. I have read no more filet mignon on the menus. Not sure of other changes yet, esp since we leave tomorrow, so I guess we are going to find out. I'm glad we are not on the DDP, so dropping an ADR is not an issue for us. I will cancel Narcossees if the filet is gone from there.

I tweaked a bunch of stuff last week and was able to get everything I wanted, even LTT for MNSSHP and CG for fireworks.. There wasn't much I couldn't do. I didn't have that experience last time.
