DH & I are going to WDW Aug 20-Sept 2. The first half of the trip we want to do some table service places, Le Cellier, Boma, Chefs de France...but I don't know when we want to do which places yet. How important is it to have ADR's during that time period when there will just be the 2 of us?

Then 2nd half of the trip we will have others joining us, but will be doing mostly counter service and cookouts at OKW.

I will post this on the adults board, too. Do any of you couples travelers ever just wing it for meals and have trouble getting in at table service places? On one of our trips, my mom and step dad split up from the rest of the party and were able to get in at 50's Prime Time within 20 minutes.

Thanks for helping.

DH & I tried to get an ADR with Le Cellier for dinner on the day we wanted to eat there. it was a no go unless we wanted to have dinner at 3:30...Make the ADR's, you'll be happy you did... :)

I expect the crowds will not be quite as minimal around that time of year as the normally have been because of the free dining if I were you Id make ADR's. I know for a fact that week Le Cellier dining times are pretty booked..Im going around the same time. In the past we have been able to walk a party of 6 in a few restaurants like Sci Fi, Rainforest but I wouldnt want to chance it really..

We always travel as a party of two. I think given the time you'll be travelling, you can wait a bit before making any reservations simply because it's a little slower time of year. BUT, I would still strongly suggest you make some reservations at those "must do" restaurants that you really want to try out.

We decided to forgo any reservations on one trip at a time we thought would be slow and we ended up having to do counter service almost every day, for every meal, because everything was booked. Don't let it happen to you!

For sure make ADRs. I went with a coworker in May and had ADRs thankfully. We tried to make time changes to a couple and could not.

You should make ADR's for Boma and Le Cellier for sure, they do fill up fast and if there are any openings the time they have may not be what you want.

It is just the 2 of us as well and we do wing it for breakfast and lunch, usually share stuff but for dinner we always have nice sit down. Depending on what time of the year you go or what day of the week places may not have openings if you just walk up to them

I would most definitly make ADR's.I've made mine and tried to change times or places and have had a hard time getting in and I'm not going till the end of Sept.I wouldnt risk it if you really want to go there.Plus it may be a little slower time of year but because of the free dining more people will be in the restaurants I know I will be because of it.

LeCellier will definately require an ADR, as a matter of fact you may not be able to get one now for those times. Boma and Les Chefs should be no problem for day of dining, just call WDW Dine in the morning and you should be able to pick your time. If you can't get into LeCellier and are looking for a steak house in that area I can highly recommend Yachtsman. Another place that should be no problem getting in to without an ADR.

By the way, I've never had problems getting seating in most restaurants without ADR's on the day I wanted to dine. The exceptions are LeCellier, Rose and Crown for fireworks times, California Grill for fireworks times and Character meals.

Thank you so much for your responses! You were right, I called Le Cellier and for the date we wanted, in August, there were only 2 times available. 11:40 am and 1pm, we took 1 pm. Boma for breakfast wasn't as bad, but I'm still glad I called. Thank you for your help.
