Has anyone made dining reservations for Narcoosees or California Grill just to eat dessert only? Is this even possible to do or would it be frowned upon?

It's fine, there are no minimums at regular non-buffet/all you care to eat TS restaurants.

Have you thought of eating at the bar at any of those restaurants?

We will have two 12 year olds with us, so hadn't considered the bar. I loved the almond crusted cheesecake at Narcoossees but didn't want to use 2 credits for dinner, so just wondered if we could go for dessert only and pay out of pocket.

With kids I wouldn't do the bar. Depending on when you are going Narcoossees and California Grill may not have seats at the bar especially closer to fireworks. If you plan on going for dessert and also watching the fireworks from there then definitely get the ADR. We tried to go up to Cali Grill bar just for drinks and were told no one was being let up with out a reservation at the moment as there were no bar seats left, it was about 45 minutes before the fireworks.

You can have dessert and coffee and it will not be frowned upon.
