I have a family of 4 so it has never been a problem. I am trying to help a friend who is a single mother navigate the Disney Dining system. She is taking her family of 5 to Disney in March. I have heard that Disney has very few tables that will seat 5 and if you call the Dining reservation line that if those table have been taken then you are out of luck, even though they could seat a party of 6. Is this really true? No flames here but should I tell her to ask for a table for 6 so she can get them ADR she wants?

I've never had a problem making an ADR for our party of five. We go two to three times a year, have an ADR for every night and we never ran into any kind of problem making our ADR.

I would call to make the ADR's asking for tables of 5. If they aren't available I'd then go on to checking for a party of 6. When I went in September we had 11 people total, and various groups wanted to do various things, so we had a lot of different numbers for each ADR. The CM's should be fine checking both scenarios.

HTH! :wizard:

Actually, I've never had any problems making ADRs but, I always call at 180 days. But, my parents decided at the last minute to extend their trip. So, I had to try to switch from party of 3 to party of 5 for 1 night. I called Disney Dinnig a few times and there is nothing available for a party of five on the date that I want (Dec 3rd). But, the last time I called the CM said that it was unfortunate that we were 5 and not 6 because there was dinning availability for parties of 6.

Thanks for the info. She is past the 180 mark but I did not want her to have a hard time with reservations.

I hope you took the CM's hint :goodvibes
