We are getting the DDP with one TS meal and one CS a day

I made most of my ADR's in the evening for our dinners but now I'm second guessing myself.

Maybe I should have scheduled most of those in the afternoon so we could just go back the AKL and chill for the rest of the evening. I'm afraid there may be some days we just don't want to leave the hotel once we get there. I did make a ressie for the BOMA on one night.

What do all of you think is it better~ to schedule ADRs (that are not at your hotel) in the afternoon or evening?

Sorry I didn't include breakfast in my poll but we are not doing any ADRs for breakfast

Out of 8 TS for our trip in September, only 3 of them are evening. We just prefer to eat our large meal in the early afternoon. All of that eating and then going to bed  . We need to walk all that off a bit! :cool1: :rotfl2:

Since you are on the DDP, then I would keep your dinner ADR's as this will help you really get the bang for your buck. When I went in 2006, I was on the regular DDP and all of my ADR's were for dinner. I priced out what it would cost OOP and some of my dinners would have been $50-$75 just for dinner! If you can, make the ADR's for an early dinner (say 5pm). This will give you a chance to sit, relax and eat, then either walk around the parks or head back to your resort.

We do DDP TS's for dinner. Like another poster mentioned, best bang for the buck, and to us it's the wind down for the day. We get up and go, go, go. Then we eat dinner around 7 enjoy the stop of an hour and a half to two hours and then were ready for another couple of hours.

Out of of our 8 TS's for this upcoming trip:

3 are dinners between 4:30 and 6:05 ADR times (plus one lunch at 3:00 pm our arrival day that actually will be our dinner that day)

1 lunch at the earliest time 11:45 pm (a character meal)

the other 3 our brkfsts (2 at our resort, 1 at MK)

We chose our ADR TS's based on location and time w/ traveling with little kids we wanted to eat at non-prime times to have less of a wait and less crowds in the restaurants.

Now when we traveled pre-kids w/ friends once we scheduled 3 dinners and 1 lunch .

I agree that you should try and pick your ADR times for dinner early to still have time to walk and rest, etc.

Good luck and happy dinning

Afternoons. We can't stand eating a lot then trying to go to bed a couple of hours later. We do this at home too though, so it's what we're used to.

I'm just not a big fan of a big lunch... seven o'clock would roll around and I'd feel entitled to another big meal 'cuz it's dinnertime... but that's just me

We do ours for dinner. It just depends on how you want to tour. We go in the summer so heat is an issue. We go to the parks early, eat an early lunch before the restaurants get crowded and then go back to the resort. We shower, rest and then head to the parks for dinner (between 5:30-6:00) and we are refreshed and ready to go for the evening.

The point that you need to make them for dinner to get bang for your buck off the dining plan is just plain wrong IMO. Do what youll most ENJOY, regardless of a few $ price difference. We have a mix, couple of b-fasts, couple of lunches and a few dinners, but I enjoy the afternoon heat/park break the most. Also, though, it really depends on what your touring plans look like. Dont try and fit a round peg in a square hole because of the plan, do what works with your itinerary. BTW I voted afternoon!

I decided to vote for evening, because I enjoy a relaxing dinner and this would be my first choice.

But honestly, when we go during the summer months, w tend to do late lunches/early dinners because of the afternoon weather. It is a very nice break from the heat and crowds. We always leave refreshed and ready to start all over again.

Plus an early dinner allows us time to eat and go see the fireworks, illuminations, fantasmic without running to make it.

Depends on your touring style. We have been to Disney over 20 times, so we tend to be late sleepers, early lunch, and then later dinner. I make most ADR's for the evening, between 7:00 and 8:00. We like late dinners in the summer months when the days are long and earlier dinners in the winter months when it's dark at 6:00. For our next trip the end of May, we have mostly evening ADR's.

I prefer lunches. It gives me time to rest and cool down in the air conditioning. Around lunch I'm always completely worn and ready for a nap, but a TS lunch makes me feel better.
