ADRs different online and on telephone?

We had an ADR this past week for Boatwright's for 6:35. During the day we decided to try to see if we could get a reservation for Kona Cafe instead in case anyone might have cancelled. Online it said there were no reservations for 5 at all, but when the dining line was called right after, we were able to book the Kona for 5 at 7:10 pm. Why is this??

It might be that the online times don't update in real time. By calling, they would have access to the times before they get updated online.

I think that is the case. I once was trying to pick up an ressie that another DISer was cancelling and we coordinated the exact time they'd cancel. They PM'd me saying that they just cancelled thier ADR only seconds earlier, yet I couldn't see it online. I called up the dining line and was able to get it.

it could also be they hold a few reservations back from being booked online to give them flexibility for the resort guests that want last minute reservations...

Just had the same thing happen. Wanted Cape May for Christmas dinner, online said there was nothing. I mean nothing open.

So, either this was a glitch, or there was really nothing open?!?!

I called and got a 6:30 ADR.

But, it won't show up on the WDW website. So, I called again. They said it might be because it's a holiday dinner ressie. I'm hoping it shows up in the next couple of days. But, happy because I got Cape may!!!

I guess it pays to call!

This drives me crazy. We wanted Cape May for Xmas Day too, just called, the CM said they couldn't book it. UGH!! Tomorrow is 180 days, so I will call back, but geez, there is so much inconsistency!

Good luck tomorrow. Maybe I got lucky and someone cancelled their 6:30. Or maybe they're holding tables back for some reason...

Thanks. The CM said she just could NOT book it because it didn't fall within the 190 day on-site guest perk because it was a special holiday meal. Whatever, we have WCC (which is a special holiday meal), so if we can't get Cape May, no biggie. It just didn't seem like correct information since you booked it. Why make info up? If you don't know something, just say you don't know!!!

I spent last Christmas & Christmas eve at Disney. We booked a hotel and ADRs about 10 days before we departed, and I was able to find reservations for both nights at decent times (6:45 Christmas eve at Crystal palace & 7:30 Christmas night at Mama Melrose), so it might be that Disney holds certain times and releases them every so often as the dates get closer.

So definitely keep checking
