I read a post on here about proposed ADR's and didn't want to hi-jack it so I am posting seperately. We've been to Disney 1 other time but stayed at Bonnet Creek resort, which is on Disney property but is not a Disney resort. This trip, 5/29-6/3, we decided to stay at Pop Century and included the DDP so as to make it not as stressful and hopefully a more enjoyable trip. We have DS's, 12 and 2. We have booked the following TS meals and wanted some input/suggestions.

Sunday evening, driving in about 3, 710 dinner at Cape May
Monday, MK and 545 pm dinner at LTT
Tuesday, Studios and 415 dinner at 50's
Wednesday, AK, 10am at Tuskers, (Earliest we could get)
Thursday, MK, 745 dinner at 1900 Park Fare

We will have a car for transportation should we need it as we are driving 2 days from Missouri which brings another question, is it better to use Disney transportation or drive to the parks each day? Another question, with the 1005am breakfast at Tuskers, could we get to AK at rope drop and do the Kilamanjaro before the breakfast or would it be cutting to close?

Sorry to ask so many questions, just want to be prepared...
Thanks in advance...

I would probably opt to drive to all of the parks, except MK. For the MK, you park at the TTC and then have to take the ferry or monorail to MK. Another place I would always choose to drive to is DTD.

I've read that Pop has a dedicated bus (in other words, you do not have to share a bus route with other resorts), so that might make it easier to use.

Generally, the rule of thumb is to allot about 45 minutes for each bus ride. It might shorter or longer, but that's probably a safe bet. If you want to get to the parks at rope drop, then I would drive.

:) Yes, you can get to AK at rope drop to ride KS, then eat. They are very close to one another. If it is EMH, then FP will not be issued until 9a.m. or so we the park gets busy. IF you happen to get an earlier breakfast time, say 8:15, there is a CM near the Tree of Life checking off names to let you pass before the park opens. Or at least that was how it was when we ate there in 2008.

This is really a better fit on the Restaurants Board vs here on resorts, so I'll be moving this one there.

Thanks.

Since most 12 yr old boys are bottomless pits, having a lot of buffet/family style ADRs makes a lot of sense.

On the Sunday arrival day, are you going to a park? If not, that is the one day I would consider driving to BC for the Cape May dinner if the time is tight. Otherwise, after having driven 2 days to get there and looking ahead to 2 days to drive home again, I would not want to touch the steering wheel of a car while I was on Disney property. Heck, the transport system is part of what you are paying for with your room; use it.

Yes, if you are at AK at rope drop you will absolutely be able to do KS before a 10 am Tusker ADR.

The only possible change I would suggest would be to note that you do not have any meals at Epcot, which is the heaviest concentration of TS restaurants. IF you have park hoppers, you might want to try an Epcot restaurant like the Biergarten instead of 50s PT. You can take the boat from HS to Epcot, eat, then take the boat back if you're trying to catch F! or just a few more hours in the park. Or stay at Epcot, tour a little (FW is much easier to do in the evening, except for Soarin' and sometimes Test Track), and watch Illuminations. Then just direct bus back to Pop.

Thanks for the input.

We did change the Crystal Palace ADR to 1900 Park Fare for dinner.

We are not doing Epcot this trip because we want 2 days in MK,(no hoppers) and Sunday coming in we'll just want to relax a little before the REAL fun starts. DW and I are planning a trip just for the two of us and we will definitely do a day at EPCOT.
