We're going to WDW for seven days at the beginning of May. I'll be four months pregnant then and, most likely, very tired and not up for full slam dunk touring days. We're afraid to plan too far in advance. We have the DP. Are we in deep trouble if we don't make ADRs? Will we be shut out everywhere we want to eat?

Well, I booked Boma for breakfast next Monday morning. I did it about 3 weeks ago and got the last table for an 8:30a reservation. I've never been to Disney, this will be the first time, but I've read on here of people waiting over an hour and others getting in right away without ADR's. So maybe do it to be safe? You can always cancel.

When I was pregnant we went and I planned excessively as usual. Then when it was time to eat I was not hungry, didn't feel like that kind of food, etc. But without ADR's you are likely to get turned away. You can always make the ADR's and then if you feel sick or too tired just cancel. That way you will always have an option.

I say make them if there is some place you really want to eat it and dont want to chance missing it. We have been in the off season before and tried to get into Sci Fi and they told us they were not taking any walk ins.
Since then I make adr's for the places we dont want to miss.

I was in Disney last May (I think the second week) and I didnt have any ADRs. There are five of us and I was really limited as to where we could eat. I tried to make a few ADRs while I was there and I would sometimes have to spend 15 minutes on the phone before someone answered. We are going in May of this year also and yesterday I made a few ADRs on the phone. I think this year I will make more than what I think I need and cancel as I go along. I know it is difficult to plan ahead, I feel the same way, but dont be caught with nowhere to go.

We have gone to a few of the resort restaurants recently and not been able to get in because we don't have ADR's. We would arrive around 4:30 and be told that they are not accepting walkups. I would highly recommend getting ADR's if you have places that you would like to eat. Otherwise you may have to try a few different places to get something to eat.

The Dining Plan is having a major impact on the sit-down restaurants in WDW. As others have said, make reservations and you can easily cancel them if you have to.
