Okay, I have most of my ADR, I am just wavering on our arrival day. I don't want to get an ADR for our plane to be late and miss it or us to just not feel up to it. :sad2:

Yet, if we do feel up to it, can you call (some number any number) the same day to get a later in the day ADR? Or do we have to go running around to walk up and just ask? I'm thinking more along the lines of a sit down (table services) restaurant outside a park. (so resorts/boardwalk/DTD options.) :confused3

we arrive around noon and I am thinking about supper time. I don't think I want to be running all over the place to see if it is possible to get a table service meal... but at the same time, don't wanna settle for a quick service and figure out later that -such and such- was 'nearly empty' and we could have gotten a better deal/meal (with dxdp)

So, what do you think? our arrive day is tuesday, may 31st. so if that helps..

do I * need* to make ADR and try to cancel if need be, or can I wing it like I wanna and be able to call and see what is left when we get there?

If it were me, I'd go ahead and make the ADR. If you have to miss it for one reason or another, you can call and then cancel.

Its easier to cancel an existing reservation than it is to make one the same day.

You can just call 407-WDW-DINE from your cell phone and see what's available, or ask the concierge at your resort, or stop @ Guest Relations in the park. We have only done the same-day thing once, but we were able to get a 50s Prime Time reservation about 45 minutes from when I called on the phone.

When we were at LeCellier for lunch in April, a family walked up and got right in. I was amazed and very happy for them.

This is our plan for midweek. I am not 100% sure on itinerary and dont want ADR each day so I figured midday if it works into our plan, Ill call and see who can fit us. I am willing to be flexible as to where we go and if nothing, we can eat CS. Arrival day we plan to just get into the park and enjoy that with a bite at a CS place.

I'd make the ADR. If worse comes to worse you can always cancel it, no biggie.

I wasn't sure if they don't do same day reservations or something. great to know I can just call the dine number and see what is open. yay! thanks all! :thumbsup2

Always go ahead and make an ADR. You can always cancel it but at least you have it if you want it on thagt day.

In the past I have went to various restaurants such as Liberty Tree Tavern and 50's Prime Time Cafe without an ADR and was seated within 5 minutes, so it's possible to do that and you won't know the answer unless you try it. However I also agree it might be better off to make an ADR just incase and if you don't feel like going you can always cancel it.
