We will be at WDW in a couple of weeks, which also happens to be my son's 12th birthday. It is kind of a last minute trip (decided about 3 weeks ago), and I've been trying to get ADRs, calling back every day. I've landed a CP breakfast, and a LTT dinner during MNSSHP one night, although not a great time - squeezed in between parade/fireworks. I am not freaking out, as I've had great luck in the past getting reservations last minute, I think they have lots of no-shows. If I don't get things in advance, we will figure it out once we get down there, and there are always Counter Service meals.
Okay, FINALLY to the questions! (Have I lost you?) There are 3 of us. I have been asking for a table for 3. Should I be asking for a 4-top? Do you think I would have better luck? I have read on here that they check only for the 3, and wouldn't tell me if there was a 4 available. (Aren't all 3 tables actually 4 tables anyway?)
Secondly, regarding the birthday, we will be heading home on his actual birthday, have the breakfast at CP that morning (although Pooh is his sister's favorite), so I'm trying to come up with something special the night before. We will be at Epcot that day. Any suggestions for a cool birthday surprise for a 12YO for which I may or may not be able to get ADR? He is about to stop being a kid, so even something slightly embarassing would be kind of fun and something I think he would remember. Think I should try for TRex at DD? I believe it will just have opened that week.
Thanks so much for any input. I have been to WDW 5 or 6 times, but never really focused on the meals, other than a Character Breakfast here or there. I am a newbie here at DIS though and the depth of knowledge is stunning!... And maybe a little scary!
