ADR Time Window

I know that if you don't show up for an ADR there is a 10$ penalty (for most places). But I have not been able to find out what constitutes "not showing up". Suppose I'm waiting in line at some attraction and I see I'm going to be late for my ADR. At what point do I bail out? There is obviously some flexibility and they won't say "Sorry - Too Late" if I show up at 6:01 for my 6:00 ADR.

Are there any guidelines or policies WRT what is a reasonable grace period for showing up late or early for your ADR?

generally 10-15 minutes is the window to arrive.
If you do show late, clarify if you will be charged the no show fee or not
Also, make sure you keep your receipt for that night just in case

Just so you know its $10 PER PERSON.
It's suggested that you arrive to your ADR 5-15 minutes ahead of time.
I'd say they probably give a 15 minute past ADR grace period before giving your table away. They may not charge you the no show fee if you do show a tad bit after that depending on your excuse.
Personally I don't get in line for something if its getting so close to my ADR that I may miss it.
I plan around my ADR's so I know what I have time for and what I don't.

There is no "official" grace period. If you are late, they can cancel your ADR and charge you the fee. Do everything in your power to not be late at all. If that means not getting in a 45 minute line when your ADR is 1 hour away, then that is what you do. Heck, I wouldn't do a 30 minute line because you never know what could happen.

Thanks for the tips. For me it's not a problem. But my DW will be late for her own funeral, which is I suppose a good thing. But at WDW.... could be a problem. Just need to know how to plan the day.
