ADR time to see Illuminations?

Okay, so I'm almost embarrassed to admit this but... In five trips to WDW, we've only managed to catch Illuminations one time & that was way back in '99. Since La Hacienda is on our to do list, I'm hoping to catch Illuminations while we are dining. What time should I try to get for my ADR? Thanks in advance!

We usually try to get Rose and Crown around 7:30 so I would try for that time for Hacienda too.

I want to try to get an ADR for Illuminations at Hacienda next trip too!

For my December trip,I made mine for 8:45 for a 9:30 IllumiNations,but I tried for 8:30.

Just a warning,a recent Poster stated that approximatley 20% to 25% of Hacienda's tables DO NOT have a view of IllumiNations.

I was pretty bummed to find that out.

Hoping to piggyback on this thread... I booked La Hacienda at 7:45 for December 9:30 illuminations show as this was the best I could get. Not sure if this is too early and not sure if kids (6, 8, 12) will wait patiently if there is a lag. Should I just cancel and do something else? Was thinking that with the Christmas week crowds the service may be slow or we might have to wait for our table (odd to hope for a wait)... Any opinions?
Also, not sure how I feel monopolizing a whole table after we may be done eating...
