Are ADRs done through the MDE account only or does calling work too?

Also, has anyone had their TA do the reservations for them? If so, how did that work? Thanks!

You can use MDE, reserve by calling, or use the Dining website. It's whatever you prefer.

If you like viewing the variety of choices, it's better to do it yourself online or via MDE rather than having your TA book.

I agree with Hiro. Even when I book by phone, I have the website open in front of me so I can look for alternatives if my first choices aren't available. And this is why I didn't have my TA book my ADRs. They don't know what you would want if your choice of restaurant or time isn't available. It can end up taking more time than if you just do it yourself.

I've always done it through the website. As pointed out already it's just much easier to see alternatives and pick something else if the first option isn't available. Calling or even using a TA for me is just adding a middle man and creating an extra step I don't need to bother with.

...it wasn't that long ago that ADRs was phone only. While calling on ADR day was an exciting activity, I don't miss it!

It's really just what you prefer to do- I prefer to make ADRs on my own using the website or app- for our upcoming trip, I made most of our ADRs using the app on my phone while still in bed. I wouldn't let a TA make my ADRs but that's the control freak in me I suppose.

You can book by calling WDW-DINE, using the WDW website, or using the MDX app. Yes you can have a TA book for you, if you want that. You will need to leave a credit card guarantee for each ADR. Since you'd have to give the TA a lot of information such as the preferred dates and times you want, I'd prefer to just book myself unless for some reason I could not.
