ADR System Upgrade - History

On October 26 you can make reservations for the first two days of your trip. You will be able to reserve whichever restaurant you choose at that time (other than Bistro de Paris, which is always 30 days)

Chef Mickey, CRT and V&A are all 'normal' and you are able to book them at 180 days out. As far as I know CM and CRT are the only two character meals that you can book at 180 days.

Does that help?

Does this include the 180 +10 days if you are staying at a WDW resort?

Almost every single person reporting back has been able to do 180 +10. I have read one or two accounts where they wouldn't let the person use +10. If it happened to me, that someone wouldn't let me, I'd just call back and try again.

I just read a different date on allears.net

IMPORTANT UPDATE: An upgrade to Disney's Dining Reservation System began July 21, 2008. As the application upgrade occurs, the latest reservation date guests will be able to secure is January 25, 2009. This means that in some cases you may not be able to book as far in advance as usual. (Note that reservation booking windows for Victoria & Albert's, Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table will not be affected by this system upgrade.) Beginning October 24, 2008, the current system will be replaced by an improved system for dining, recreation and tour bookings. With the launch of the new booking system, reservations for dining, recreation, and tours will be made during one single transaction. Once the upgrade is completed the booking window will expand back to the normal 180 days.

Do we know is it the 24th or 26th now?

Sorry if this was asked and answered already.

I called just a little while ago and was told to call back on Friday the 24th. My stay begins on the 26 of February. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

This is the original message Disney gave when the new dining system was announced. They have updated this twice since it was released. The first update changed the window to February 22nd with the new sysytem going live on November 21st. Now the latest update has the window opening up through March 22nd with the new system going live in late December. Pretty confusing huh?

I'm sorry but you were given incorrect information. You can call on Sunday October 26th to make any reservations though March 22nd.

How to know who to talk to? I just called about making the CRT and Chef Mickey's in advance...180 days. If my first day would be May 6th, I could call on Nov. 7th right? I thought when I called that morning I could make those reservations for anytime during my 8 day stay since you got the 10 day extra. The lady told me that is not correct and I need to call each morning for a different reservation? Can someone please help me. I know I will be waiting until December for the rest of them, but I really want to try and get into CRT and Chef Mickey's as soon as possible. popcorn::

As long as you have a reservation on Disney property, you should be able to make reservations for anytime during your stay, that is, once you hit 180 days out. So, if Nov. 7th is 180 days before you check into your Disney resort, you should be able to make reservations for your stay at Chef Mickey's and CRT anytime during your 8 day vacation. I made ressie's for my mom who is checking in on 4/15 without a problem. Our ADR day was Oct. 17 for 4/15, but I already have a ressie for Chef Mickey's on 4/22.

If you are not staying on Disney property, you have to make your reservations one day at a time.

Well, darn, I guess I don't get to sleep in Sunday morning. I will be up at 6 AM!!!

Thanks...I will get up early then on the November 7th and call in. Hopefully I get someone who can help me!

All I know is that when I called today to reserve a Candlelight Processional package for my mom the system SOUNDED different! I have called in the last month or so and it always was that press buttons to do stuff, and NOW it's voice activated! Say "Make reservations", say "Yes", say "No"...

Is this a part of the upgrade does anyone know?

How soon to know when we will be able to make ADR's for after March22.

We are going April 13-16.

If the system is delayed again then your window should open up at the end of November. If the system launches as planned in December, then your window would open up then.

You can also keep checking here. Someone will up date the thread title for this with an updated date if we find out anything more about ADR windows.

Wow how can you keep track? Thanks for the info!!!

I just (10/23/08 @ 7:50am), called Disney Dining three times, spoke to three diferent agents, and got three different answers to my question, "When can I book a reservation for 2/23/09?" The answers were: October 24, October 26, November 21!!!! :confused3 :headache: This is where the Disney magic fizzles for me. Our trip is 2/18-2/24 (leaving at 7am), so the 23rd is the only day that I haven't booked, and we going for Le Cellier. I am so frustrated! This whole resevation system overhaul is a debacle!
I'm trying to just take a chill, and just be happy that we're going back to my favorite place on Earth, :woohoo: , but it's hard with this key ADR hanging in the balance.
DH works in computers, and it's always a nightmare when they implement a change. One of the many reasons I hate technology! Let's all just go back to pen and paper! :lmao:
