So I booked a last-minute trip to WDW for December 12-15 about a week ago, giving me a window of less than 30 days. We are tentatively doing 2 days MK and 2 days HS, hoping to resort-hop too.

When I look up lunch or dinner reservations at either park, I get NOTHING. Seriously, nothing. I did get a Liberty Tree lunch reservation for Sunday 12/13, but I am getting zero results for most time slots in both parks.

Am I best off to use reservation finders? Is there hope of stuff popping up when we're there as people cancel? I've seen the "join walkup list" option on a few restaurants within the app...does that yield good results day-of?

I would plan on qs for lunch and ordering from DoorDash or the like for dinner in your room if you cannot make an adr for in park. Good luck

Newbie here: other than Touring Plans, what other reservation finders are there?

Looking to make a few additional ADRs for our trip, but also ok with walk up if that has been successful? Mostly looking for walk up at resorts, not in park (Topolino, Kona, Sanaa, Beaches and Cream)

Keep checking for reservations as some become available due to people cancelling. I've seen other posts where they've utilized a reservation finder and the individual found a reservation but never received a notification (rare).

I've found some great reservations by chance on previous pre-COVID trips by frequent checking. For example, CRT for Christmas morning a few weeks out! A good time to check on available reservations is the day before while on your trip. A lot of people will cancel theirs 24 hrs out to avoid being charged.

Good luck and have a great trip!

We are staying at fort wilderness cabins 12/1 for a week, thinking about using door dash for a few meals, do they deliver to the fort , if so do they come to cabins or do we meet them somewhere? Thanks

Every day people are changing their plans for all sorts of reasons. Bookmark the restaurant reservation pages you're interested in, and check whenever you have a few minutes here & there.

The system is strange sometimes... messing around with the time slots and number of guests appears to help? Nothing will show for us and we'll change it from 'Dinner' to 7:30p and something will pop up, or 3ppl to 4ppl.

I used a service for our last minute trip. I was able to snag ALL of the impossible reservations in all parks, at times that work for us. (BOG, OGAs, SCIFI, CRT)
The free sites don't work. I used a paid $5 per search that has sent me multiple availabilities (In fact, the texts are still coming).
One thing, you need to be quick. I assume lots of people use this service as an available reservation only lasts a few minutes or so.
(I understand naming services is not allowed, I just wanted to share my experience in an effort to help you get exactly what you want). Best wishes

Ditto to this. You can definitely get yourself some ADRs yet. So many people are cancelling their trips. And some more will cancel ADRs at the last minute as they change their mind about where to eat. The free alert services do not work for the hard to get ADRs/times. I am signed up for a total of 4 reservation watch services and have snagged all the hard to get ones for the week after Christmas. If you want a recommendation of which one I get the most alerts for, feel free to message me (it's very clear between the 4 which one is the best). You do have to respond fast. I usually respond within seconds and sometimes miss out because someone else was faster. Others last longer.

Yep Disney doesn’t have enough restaurants open like you can see. I don’t understand it. Bring some more people back and open up
More restaurants.

I just made a reservation for Skipper’s Canteen and made it for two. I guess I entered the number wrong since their are 3 in our party (DS8). It’s why I snagged it when I saw it. Will that be an issue if three show up?

People have told me as long as one member of your party shows up, it'll be fine and they won't charge you for the missing people. For instance, we have a GG reservation that did not have room for two but had room for three. I did have a CM last night tell me that "they won't seat two people to a four person table", but I've only heard the opposite from guests. It's typically easier to find a table for 3-4 than 1-2, so I think you'll be fine.

Awesome! I didn’t want it to cause an issue showing up with 3 when it was for 2 people. Woohoo!! Excited!

Good call! I booked a reservation for dinner at The Wave after you mentioned this. :)
If you're into desserts, the "chocolate flight" at The Wave is terrific. On Epcot or Studios days, Trattoria al Forno (at Boardwalk) and Ale and Compass (at Yacht Club) are both good.

I don’t think you can show up with an “extra” person. If it’s the other way around and you booked for 3 when you only needed two, that is fine.

Oh no! I canceled my Liberty Tavern reservation too. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I guess I’ll keep trying.
