Just started planning a spur of the trip for the end of the month and was wondering if most of you make ADR's for that time of year and if so have most places been booked up? Wondering if I should have 2 or more alternatives ready before I call.
Thanks!!!

It is always good to have at least two places in mind for each time, unless you are calling way ahead.

I agree I would probably have a secondary place in mind. I just called about 2 days to change some things for my trip in 10 days, & I got what I wanted.

If it's somewhere that you really want, make the adr. Otherwise go with the flow, there are plenty of good places to eat at Disney and I'm sure that you will always find something to meet your needs and wishes the day of your trip.

I called last night and I got an adr for the Rose and Crown for Sunday night Jan. 29 at 7:30, no problem. I made this one so that we can see illuminations from the deck. Everything else for this trip is going to be spontanious.

Last October when I was there we never had an adr booked and were able to get into all of the restaurants that we wanted to (Yachtsman, Flying Fish, Chefs de France, and Rose and Crown) by calling the day of. LeCellier seems to book up early because of the dining plan (it's a steak house that only charges 1 credit instead of 2 at the other nicer restaurants). Enjoy and don't worry too much.

We're going in about 15 days and I didn't have any problem booking my ADRs about two weeks ago. I was booking some pretty hard-to-get ADRs, too. You should be okay.

This past Sunday I called around 1:00 PM for an ADR at Mama Melroses and got one for 5:30 (?). I'm glad I did, when we got there they were telling anyone who came in without an ADR that not only were they sold out for the night, but every full service place in MGM was as well.

2 weeks ahead shouldn't be a problem for most places. During the less busy months we have been able to get them up to 3 hours before. It also never hurts to have an alternate ready because I have been surprised before and been told they were full or it was too late for us.

jackmac- we are first timers so if my question is dumb I'm sorry. How do you see Illuminations from the deck of Rose and Crown? Are you allowed to ask to eat on the deck when you make an ADR or what? Also what reservation times would work out if Illuminations is at 9pm?

The Rose and Crown is the closest restaurant to Illuminations. It is on the water right at the bridge next to the International Gateway. They have outside dining and inside dining. If you're outside you have a great view of Illuminations, possibly the best view in Epcot. You're not allowed to make an ADR for outside. They seat you when and where they can with your ADR. You can ask when you get there if any outside tables are available and wait for one if it will be ready soon. If you are seated inside then there is a patio area that you can go out to for Illuminations. The staff is very helpful and will show you where to go. They will even hold your meals if you want to go outside.

The best time to ask for an ADR and be able to see Illuminations would be between 7:30 and 8 PM. Figure an hour for dinner and dessert with Illuminations. 7:30 would also give you time to wait for an outside table if one becomes available. As mentioned, I have a 7:30 ADR for the 30th. I'll let you know how it works out.

Thanks everyone.... I called today and got my first choices for all the meals. Better safe than sorry!!
