So we're heading to DW next week, staying with my mom who lives in celebration and we're only doing one character meal - breakfast on saturday - crystal palace.

We are taking my 11 month old DD - my question is: does she count as a 'person' when i'm making the reservation? I read on the site that "children under 3 can eat off of a parents plate without charge" but I didn't know if that applied to the number of "seats" we will need to reserve, if that makes sense?

Thanks! :)

Yes, you'll want to add her as a person to ensure you get a seat for her. ex) If you have a party of 2 they may seat you at a 2 person table but you'll need a bigger table to fit DD.

Everyone must count for two reasons. One was stated above (that you need a place to put the high chair) the other is that for capacity limits the restaurant need to know that the number of heads in the building doesn't exceed the number they are allowed. This number will not be the same was the number of meals you pay for in some cases, including yours.

My friend and I did this too when we were vacationing in Orlando last year. Our DD's were 14 months at the time and were not charged for their meals but I did make a dining reservation for 4.

I hope you're able to find a reservation! I'd start trying now if you don't have anything booked yet. If they're fully booked, keep trying! Some people may cancel reservations and you can take advantage of that. Have fun!

Thanks for the advice everyone! I had already gone ahead and reserved for 8 people (including her) and figured it would be easier to subtract her than add her, and it looks like I was right! Thanks again :)

Good news! I was concerned you hadn't booked anything yet and that you might not be able to get what you were hoping. Have fun at the Crystal Palace!
