If I am trying to make an ADR for a group of 9 will there be a problem if there are only 4 on my room reservation? The other 5 are staying in a different room.

No problem, you can book dinner for 27 if you like. Doesn't matter how many are on your reservation - if you're on a dining plan, they'll be happy to take cash from the rest of them.
