We're heading down to the world in Oct...I'm trying to decide if the DP is worth it for us. DH, DW, DD9, DS3. My 3 year old is on the eating a normal meal every third day plan:rotfl:. Can I make my ADRs then use the menus approximate my cost and add the dining plan later if it works out for us?

Very few WDW restaurants require a credit card when you make ADRs. So, it's harmless to make your ADRs now. The website/castmember will let you know the cancellation policy for each place you book.

You also do not need a room reservation to make ADRs. So, you can make ADRs at the 180 day mark, then reserve your room/DP package at a later time.

We had done this in the past. Hopefully the policy has not changed.

You don't have to decide if you want the DDP up until I think it is 10 days before your trip. Take your time to think it over and do the math. There is no pressure and no rush to decide now.

I believe unless you are staying at a DVC resort on DVC points, you have to select the dining plan at the time of your resort reservation. If you are staying on DVC points, you have until 48 hours before check in to decide. I may be wrong, but I thought that was the policy.
