Adr question: Help please

I can make my reservations on 6/26. I plan on doing it online. I have played with the system to get used to it. Of course I didn't make any real reservations. We are traveling with my brother, his wife and 2 children who have their own reservation. I will be making the reservations for all of 8 of us.

My question is will I just have to enter my reservation (thus pulling up my 90 +10 day availiblity to book) and book for all 8 of us or will I have to somehow add their reservation too. Will I have to enter all our names and ages? I want to be prepared.

Also, I will be booking the Luau, but we are still unsure of this and I know we can cancel within 48 hours of our reservation. We will be paying out of pocket for it while the other reservations are on the DDP. Can I make another reservation for dinner that night as a backup in case we do decide to cancel or due to weather Disney cancels it. I am not into double booking, but I would like a back up for this one night. Will I be able to do this online or perhaps I get my brother to book the backup meal for all 8 of us.?

You can make the ADR's for all 8 people in your party. We are going in Sept with friends of ours which makes us a party of 9. My ressie only has my family on it (5 of us) and we made all of our ADR's for a party of 9 without any problems.

Yes to take advantage of the 90 +10 you will have to log in using your Resort resies, there is a place you can on the Dining page.....

You can book for all 8. And, as far as I know, you can book the back-up meal as well. According to this post on Disney Food Blog, you just get a warning that you're booking for a time for which you already have a reservation. You can just say "ok" and go forward anyway. Not sure if this will always be the case...
