ADR phone number?

I have just made my first ADR and was wondering what others have put in for their contact phone number.

For now I put the number of our accommodation (WBC). I'm thinking of getting a US sim when we arrive so I guess I just update the reservation with this later?

I've booked 1900 Park Fare for our second night but hoping to pick up earlier than 6.15 if there are cancellations.

179 days until we arrive

I just put my mobile in. Have to say I have never been rung by anyone on any trip.
But the moment I write this
10 people will say they get called all the time

I put my mobile number too, but I do it with 61 before it and drop the O.

I have never been called either. I think it's just used as a reference for you to make changes.

you do have to remember that phone number and get it exactly right to retrieve any bookings - say you want to change or cancel - the system uses the phone number as one of the ways to id your booking. If you get the number wrong it can't find your booking. that is the only use I have discovered for the phone number

The thing you need to be careful of in using the resort number is if somebody used the same phone number and makes an ADR within two hours of yours, it's possible that your ADR will be cancelled .

Disneys computer system does filter ADR's to try to stop the double booking by people and it does screen for duplicates. So if somebody else uses the same phone number around a similar time, this could be picked up by the system and yours and the other person's ADR's will be automatically cancelled.

To be on the safe side, it's best to use your own phone number as it reduces the chance of it being cancelled :thumbsup2

The reservation numbers would be different.

We have made multiple ADR's within a short time of each other, one for ourselves and another for my brother and his family and used the same phone No. and had no problems.

Unfortunately you don't have to use your reservation number to make ADR's they can and are made without a vacation reservation number. I had a friend who made ADR's before she had booked their vacation.

It doesn't happen all the time, but it can and it does happen. You were lucky it didn't happen to you but it does happen to people, they are deleted automatically by the computer filtering system. Why some get through and others don't is a mystery and not something that I really have any idea about :goodvibes.

I just thought people should know, that it is possible to have their ADR's cancelled, I didn't say it would happen every time, but it can :goodvibes I was about to quote the Panteine ad then "It won't happen overnight but it will happen" :rotfl2::rotfl2: but that wouldn't really work.

It would be such a shame to get to a restaurant and your ADR has vanished :scared1:

disney also announced last week that they are tightening up the software and introducing the CC requirement to stop double bookings. Perhaps this could get caught up in that "tightening".

(reminds me - better cancel that double booking for Cali Grill!)

hey there
i just put in my home number, easy to remember.....havent had any issues..

will be interesting to see how all this CC prepay/hold affects availability at hard to get places ie:le cellier & chef mickeys.

only 180 days to go before I can make 180 days out bookings....:rolleyes1

When making an ADR it asks you for the following "Phone Number You Can Be Reached at On Vacation"

Interesting! It was the "be reached at on vacation" bit that got me. I don't plan on using my mobile which is why I didn't put that.

The system does recognise some double bookings but not others. I found a better time for 1900 Park Fare so booked that and at the same time the system cancelled the existing booking. I also had a booking for House of Blues but again found a better time but I had to manually cancel the original booking myself.
