Can anyone tell me if there are any special steps in order book our ADR's etc on the DxDP if we are a grand gathering?

Thanks for the help! :woohoo:

The only difference I can think of is that if you want a Grand Gathering Experience, you can book that up to 180 days ahead of your trip.

All other reservations are at 90 days and I can't think of any special booking priviliges for Grand Gatherings beyond the 90 + 10 that is offered to all Disney resort guests.

Ok, so I just called member services (I am a DVC Member) about my question regarding booking ADRS when you have a grand gathering, and she connected me to member services. The woman at MS told me, and I quote, sure I could book it through them, but if I wanted any chance of actually getting an ADR for our group, that I had better be on the phone a 7:00 AM tomorrow morning with everyone else, or I could forget getting a reservation, because by the time they open, there will be no reservations left.

Does that strike anyone else as being wrong on so many levels! It is almost like Disney is trying to create the perfect storm when it comes to ADRs. You promote having a GG at the park, and they will help you, but then when you try to make reservations using the service, you are told, don't bother, you won't get anything.

I booked the evening safari at 180 days out, through GG, but they day I called, they had one left for our entire trip.

I made an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern for the 8 of us (GG) but was told there is no guarantee the two tables would be next to each other. WHAT???? I asked if that was normal? She said they would try their best to sit them together but I may have to wait a couple of minutes after I check in - then what's the point of a reservation? I have the same frustrations. They want big groups but then they make statements like that??? Obviously, we want to sit together. I guess we'll have to check in for our dining reservation early so they have a heads up. UGH! And this is only my first ADR.:confused3

Disney never said that Grand Gatherings gives anyone priorities to better seating or priority reservations over all other Disney goers. A Grand Gathering means they will attempt to get your rooms located close to one another and you have the ability to book those Grand Gathering events that are only available to those participating in a Grand Gathering. That's it.

11 of us went in January and we were seated together at all places except Sci Fi (impossible due to car capacity) and Coral Reef (where I had specifically requested not to be seated as a large group). We've done large groups many times and I'm used to the spiel that you may not be seated together but they really try at the restaurants to accommodate you if at all possible. They just won't guarantee it.

Pakey, thanks for posting that your group got to sit together most of the time. There will be 11 of us and we want to sit together as much as possible.
