We're going down for our son's 5th birthday Thanksgiving week (CS dining plan). We're planning on a few meals out of pocket, so we were preparing our ADR list. Our first choices were Boma for Thanksgiving and Biergarten for Candlelight Processional package (1st show). We were both out of the country at our 90 day mark but gave our travel planner our choices. It came back that Boma was completely unavailable and Biergarten was sold out for the first seating of Candlelight Processional. We got our second choices so we were OK with that.
Last night (72 days out) my wife called Disney directly on a whim and was able to get a late dinner seating at Boma Thanksgiving night and a lunch reservation at Biergarten for Candelight Processional!
Is this normal or did we completely luck out? My wife had heard that Disney may release some reservations at 90+10 and then open up more as time passes. Anyone know if this is true? And if so, shouldn't our travel planner have known this? Also, the Disney agent asked several times if we were paying out of pocket for these meals or if we were on the DDP. Does that make a difference when booking ADR's?
We're just happy that we were able to get our first choices after all!
