I've been waiting for today to make ADR's for months now. I called 7am this morning. THE COMPUTERS ARE DOWN!!! I was asked to call back in a couple hours!

AUGGGHHHH!

I am sooooo frustrated! I found the same thing except I can't call in a couple of hours, I'll be on my son's class trip. If I don't get the reservations I want they WILL hear from me. At my job they do these updates over night not at the busiest time of day. This stinks! I have to leave the house at 8:30 I'll keep on trying until then.

Yup. Had everything ready this morning. Had it ready for weeks. All my dates, times, restaurants. All the alternates. The official US time posted on my computer. My charge card info. My resort confirmation. Did a dry run yesterday. Needed to make sure I got it done before I took DD10 (who does not know yet) to school, and I went to the office.

Oh well. :confused3

Same here...called last Friday for the first week of my trip and got all the hard ones though...not as worried about this next weeks list but still frustrating! I also can't call back because I will be at my daughters talent show and then we are going to Georgia for the weekend! Will not be able to call until Monday! oh well....good luck everyone!

People, I know this is frustrating but believe me, it's more frustrating for them than you. I am an IT manager and I control my company's network which isn't nearly the size of Disney's. Sometimes, servers fail. What most likely happened is the database server crashed and they are trying to rebuild it. That takes time and it's very stressful for them too. These things happen out of the blue. It happens to me sometimes too. I get a call at 2am saying the servers are down and I have to come into work to fix them.

I can guarantee they are not doing updates. No company would take down servers during the busy time of day.

Got all of my reservation except Ohana on Aug 6th. But this is why I called first thing today, I am not happy. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they wanted me to email another department to complain since it wasn't their fault. I don't want to complain, I want my reservation. I told them that I am insisting on speaking with a supervisor and don't want to be pushed off on another office. I understand that it wasn't their fault that the computers were down, but they have to deal with the fall out of that. I am on hold waiting for a supervisor.

When the computers were finally up when I called at about 9:15 this morning, I could not get R&C on the day I wanted at any time after 6:15, and could not get Ohana at the morning I wanted at 10:30. I called up about an hour later, and got R&C at 7:20 and 'Ohana at 10:30.

I'm sorry you didn't get 'Ohana but what do you expect the supervisor to do. There's no availability. They can't create a table. For all you know, they could have been booked a few days back with other calling during their 90 +10 window.

In the interest of customer service they could put me in.

Put you in where? If the tables are showing booked, they're booked. It could very well be that the place was totally booked before today, so the computers being down today did not necessarily make any difference in whether or not you got in. Everybody who arrives at least a day before you had the chance to call before you and book. Course, you can always hope for pixie dust...

But people cancel all the time, so if you really want that reservation, call back every so often...you could get lucky.

If they were booked at 7am and I couldn't get in that is fine, I don't have an issue with that. No one told me if they booked up today, I assume they did. Every one says that they always have cancellations. If so then what is the big deal about adding one more table? Disney needs to take some sort of responsbility for those of us who called this am and coudn't get through because of their computers.

Ok. I hope they are able to fit you in. Things like this happen with computers. It's really no one's fault. But I hope you get your ADR.

Things happen, but Disney doesn't owe you a reservation because their servers crashed. It's a restaurant. Not a surgery date.

I realize how we all want things to go perfect, but sometimes they don't. Take a deep breath and call back in a few hours like they asked. Being difficult will never get you anywhere.

Realize if they add "one more table" for you, then they need to add "one more table" for everyone who called and it crashed. What do you expect them to do? Write it all down on a piece of paper and give it to the restaurant? I honestly don't think they need to take any responsibility here besides apologizing.

Again, no one owes you anything, just call back and try again.

It is Disney's responsbility. They didn't mean for the computers to be down, I understand that things happen, but they were down.

Now on to plan B. I wanted Ohana to watch the fireworks that night on the beach. We have a 7am flight out of Philly so I think that Main Street may be too much that night even after a nap. I checked out Kona and the reviews are pretty good. Does any one else have a suggestion? Still crossing my fingers for Ohana!

We ate at Kona for the first time on our last trip and LOVED it:) We love Ohana also, of course! I hope you get Ohana also

We love both Ohana's and Kona, and have ADR's for both for the next trip.
Really looking forward to watching my girls enjoy their Kona Kones!!!

I hope you get the ADR that you want!!!

Kona is very good (and more relaxing if you're wanting a low-key final evening) The Wave at the Contemporary is also very good, and you can go to the 4th floor observation deck to watch the fireworks from the Contemporary (very close!)

We liked both of these restaurants - click on the September dining review in my signature for pictures & reviews of those restaurants The Wave is post #36 and Kona is post #51.

You should be able to get your choice of times at one of those, they don't book up near as fast as 'Ohana.

Yes, I have a suggestion. I was unable to get Chef Mickey on our arrival date back in March. I was disappointed but determined. Do this and see if it works for you. Count back from your arrival date to 45 days prior and call several times on that day. I did this and was able to get a 5:00pm dinner at Chef Mickeys. The reason this works is most people who book through Disney have to make final payment 45 days prior to arrival. Some may need to cancel or reschedule before final payment is made. Therefore, on that day there is a good chance there will be ADR cancellations. Relax and give it a try.

I'm scared to know how this ends...like a bad car wreak, can't watch, but can't look away :rotfl2:
