We're still trying to resolve a problem with a ADR at the Hollywood & Vine Character breakfast. We arrived on time and when we presented our ADR number to the greeter, she couldn't find us in the system. She indicated that she could only search for our reservation by name and/or time and not by reservation number. They weren't crowded at the time so she went ahead and seated us. I asked her then if we could be charged the No Show fee and she assured me that we wouldn't since she had noted our reservation number on our ticket along with a note explaining that she couldn't find the reservation in the system. We were charged the appropriate amount for the breakfast but then a week after we got home noticed a $60 charge ($10 per person for 6 people) on my credit card used to book the ADR. I'm having a hard time getting through to anyone who can help me. I've finally been given the central billing number but will need to call on Monday as they're closed on weekends. The last person I talked to said it has been a huge problem so she feels certain I'll be able to get it resolved. I'm just wondering how many people never notice that they were charged the No Show fee a week after they arrive home and why is Disney making it so difficult to resolve the issue if it is obviously an ongoing problem.

There's another post just a few down the board discussing this from someone who was late and got charged.

I saw that! In this case, we had our reservation number but they weren't able to look up our reservation by number, only by name or time of reservation and we weren't showing up on their list at the door. It appears to be a very common problem from the people I spoke to at WDW Dining today. I'll call Central Billing on Monday but they said I'd need to have all my dining reservation numbers as well as confirmation for charges showing that I did use all my dining reservations and the charges for the meal. I love the idea of just telling them to keep the $60 charge on my credit card and reverse the $180 charge since they're saying I didn't show up for my reservation!

The best advice at this time is that if you eat at a restaurant with a no-show fee, ALWAYS check your credit card bill.

And yes, it's a pain to get the charge removed as they expect the guest to prove that they actually showed up for the meal. Keep your receipts and paperwork too.

This is nothing more than a money grab. Just like what BoA tried and Verizon tried this week. Pure greed.

TheresaBoynton-
If you don't mind could you please share the central billing telephone number just in case some of us need it. I have a feeling it would take several calls and an act of congress to get it from Disney. ;)
Goodness, this is something Disney needs to resolve and quickly. I will definitely be keeping my receipts and checking my card for charges after our trip.

Thanks!
Carla

Carla,

WDW Dining gave me this number for Central Billing 407-828-5630. Our vacation was Dec. 18-23 and the charge to our account was not posted until the 29th so please keep checking your credit card even a week after you get home. I checked our charges each day to verify that they were accurate but didn't expect them to show up a week after leaving. The charge for the $180 breakfast showed up immediately. The $60 no show charged showed up a week later on the same card. BTW, I'm not sure if this is new or not but a 18% gratuity was also automatically added to our bill. You may want to double check your bill just to make sure that the gratuity hasn't already been added.

There is an automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more.

My parents came with us last trip so every meal we ate with them (total of 7 people) had the gratuity added. We had separate checks since we had two different packages with the dining plan and each receipt had it's own gratuity charge listed.

Thank you so much TheresaBoynton for the number and all the info as well. I put the number in my phone so I'll have it. :thumbsup2

 Totally unacceptable and the amount of money they are spending on all these corrections makes you wonder what they are thinking. :sad2:

I hope you get it resolved quickly. If not I would call the CC company and have them put a hold on that transaction.

These reports are unsettling:sad2::sad1:. It's bad enough to come home from a Disney vaca (always wish I was still there!), but I don't want insult added to injury by having the stress of straightening out an incorrect no-show fee. Hope it gets settled soon!

I called Central Billing on Monday and Disney resolved the issues with no problem. I should see a $60 credit within 7-10 business days. Everything was cleared up in less than 5 minutes. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful and quick to resolve the issues.

If you call billing, they will deal with it promptly. I got charged last August for Akershus for no show but we were there. they simply cancelled out party of 5 to make it a party of 6 and got seated right away. When we got home, I noticed the no show fee on my CC and called. I explained the situation to billing and within 5 minutes everything was fixed.

TheresaBoynton - I'm glad your issue was resolved, but this is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE from Disney.

They need to suspend all penalties until they can do it properly. Utterly ridiculous.
