ADR at Chef Mickey's

Has anyone else had trouble getting their ADR here? I called today (180 days out) when the lines opened this morning and still didn't get the time I wanted. I wanted anytime between 6-6:30 p.m.. I ended up with 5:15 pm as the next time available was 7:45 pm! Since I'm traveling with a 4 y.o. that wasn't an option for me. Everything else was fine (Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Coral Reef & Princess Storybook breakfast at Askerhaus) it was just Chef Mickey's.

Was today 180 days from the meal or from your check in? If 180 days from check in, try again on 180 days from the meal (in case they held back tables)

Keep trying- there is plenty of time for cancellations!

Its both. We're going the first night we're there. Thank you for the advice about checking back though - I'll keep trying.

check the cancellation thread on this forum--you can't believe how many ressies are made and now being cancelled /changed. So many people make "blanket" ressies--just in case-- and don't end up using them .So adrs always open up--except for Le cellier

I had a similar situation, I called on my 180 days for Chef Mickey's breakfast, I wanted 10:00, but I had to choose between 9:30 and 10:30. Le Celler, on the other hand, I wanted 6:45 and I had to "settle" for 6:40 The rest of my ADR's I got exactly what I wanted. I had no idea Chef Mickey's would be my "difficult" ADR

I had the same problem, but ended up taking the 8:45 finally so we'd be able to do it. But was able to get all the other places I was wanting to try.

You're 180 days out, keep what you have and just keep calling to make an adjustment. It is a wonderful place with broad apeal to families, kid focused groups and adult travelers. Most of us love Mickey and to get his pal too is a big bonus! Oh yea and there's the sundae bar thingy too.

We got a 6:15 on the Sunday night before Labor Day, good enough for me. Early enough that we'll be in a time and place to do either Illuminations or Spectro/Wishes that night.

I think it's all "booked" due to free dining offer. Not to say that many won't be cancelled. My 180 day was 3-10-08 and I made every adr I wanted from HDDR, CM, CRT, LeCellier, you name it, I got it for all my times. Breakfast was usually the first seating available (I've got 2 young ones) and dinner is always between 5 & 6.

I'm not going during free dining. I'll be there after it ends. I looked into going during free dining but the savings for me wasn't that much (less than $100) as I have a 40% off room code and if I had gone during free dining I wouldn't have been able to get any of the restaurants I wanted at the times I wanted and I wouldn't have been able to get into Chef Mickey's or Coral Reef at all (I checked).

We had a 5:10 ADR there last summer and it ended up being a fantastic time. The restaurant opens at 5, so we didn't have to wait for our table at all and since the place wasn't completely full yet, all the characters made it around twice which can be tough at a busy place like CM. Who knows? That early ADR may be a blessing in disguise.

I called today to change an ADR and got Chef Mickey during free dining but not till 7:55 in the evening. That's fine for our family, we are used to eating late anyway.
