ADR at California Grill for what time to see 9:00pm Wishes?

I know there's sometimes a wait at California Grill before you're seated so I'm trying to figure out what time I should make my ADR for in order to see the 9:00pm Wishes without being squatters at our table for hours!

1) That is the problem.
2) Everyone else are squatters.
3) Probably the latest would be a 7:30pm ADR.
4) But, I'd get one even earlier.
5) Once people are there, they don;t want to leave before the fireworks.

I would make it for 8:00p.

I had an 8:20p for a 10:00p fireworks and we couldn't stretch out our meal long enough. We were through with everything and our kids were getting antsy.

I think we finally gave up and left at 9:45p.

Even if you are nearing the end of your meal and really just waiting..you can go outside to the Patio area and view from there. It's actually a better view as they no longer dim the lights inside hardly at all.

Hmm...I hadn't really thought about the possibility of just enjoying the show from the patio once we're done. If they'll let us do that, then I won't worry so much about eating slooooow!

We have 7:00pm booked for August and wishes isn't until 10! I wonder if we could squat on the patio!

You can just come back to the patio after you leave. You just have to show your meal receipt.

We've never done it, though. We always plan on coming back, but get distracted by other things.

Last Sept. we had 7:30 ADR for CG and it worked out perfectly as the sun was just setting as we went upstairs. We were just finishing our meal as 9:00 Wishes started. This year I've made ADR for 7:20 (again Sept) also in time for sunset and 9 p.m. Wishes. But this year I plan on watching from the deck as last year, since the lights weren't dimmed, and the music was piped in pretty low, we couldn't really hear the music and the room reflection made it harder to view the fireworks. The video I shot mostly has the reflection of the room and all the room noise on it. So-this year, the deck's the place for us.

I actually prefered the FW view from Narcoossee's (lights dimmed and music piped in) and we are going back in Sept. with 7:10 ADRs. (9 p.m. Wishes)

I made my ressies at CG for 8pm. The very helpful CM I spoke with told me this would be "the" time to eat and see wishes at 9pm. She told me if we weren't through with our meal we could watch and then pick up where we left off! Hopefully she is right. Im trying to plan a romantic anniversary dinner for our 5th!!

mushymushy - Thanks for the tip! I didn't realize we could come back to the patio with the meal ticket...maybe we can go explore the hotel a little if we finish early. I've never been in the Contemporary before and I'm curious!

Disneydaz - I think we'll take your advice and migrate outside to view the fireworks...sounds like we'll get the full effect a little better that way!

She is right. That's how it is almost every time we eat at California Grill. It's usually on a Saturday night, Wishes at 9:00. Our ADR is at 8:00 and we're always at some point in the meal when Wishes begins. We just get up and walk out (with the rest of the crowd) to the observation deck, enjoy the show, then resume dinner.

Do check the schedule for the night you are going there as sometimes Wishes is at 10 p.m.
Could be sitting there quite some time!
