ADR 90+10 question

Does the 90+10 ADR booking facility apply if you are staying at the Dolphin?

When you book your ADRs, how do they know you are staying onsite?

When I have made PSs in the past, they have looked me in the computer .. and found out where I was staying.

I don't know about the Dolphin question, sorry.

The ADR 90+10 does not apply if you are staying at the Swan or Dolphin, it only applies at Disney owned resorts. I believe they ask for your reservation number and check in date and check this with the reservation system before allowing you to book ADR's during the 90+10 time frame.

When I called they asked for my reservation number and my home phone numnber. This way they know youre staying there.

We have a reservation at the WL and at the Dolphin.
Let's say we do our ADR's under the WL reservation number at the 90 day mark.

If a better rate - AP rate comes out for the WL we stay there.
If we can get a teacher rate at the Dolphin and less expensive than the WL,
we will be at the Dolphin.
We would decide by Day 30 before our WDW vacation - after any 90 day mark for any of our vacation dates.

So now what will happen to my ADR's - would they also be cancelled ?

Here's what I just found at Mousesavers:

If you cancel your Disney resort reservation, you will be responsible for canceling any Advanced Dining Reservations that required a credit card guarantee or payment. If you do not cancel such reservations, the normal penalty will be charged.

So, there's the back door. As people figure it out and are willing to play that game to get the advantage, then I suspect Disney will have to make changes. What's stopping anyone from booking an onsite hotel just to get the dining advantage then turning around and cancelling the hotel right before penalty applies? You pay a refundable 1 nt. deposit - big deal! This is a flawed system imho.
