Has anyone figured out how to link the pics from the photobucket app on the Droid directly to a webpage such as the Disboards?

SSR looks like a beautiful resort! I have never been. Your pictures and reports are great! Getting me pumped for our trip/honeymoon trip in Aug

June 15th Recap -

Wow! No theme parks today. We fizzled out a bit tonight. We had planned to take the Tron-o-Rail over to EPCOT tonight, but instead we spent more time at the Polynesian Reosrt. Afterwards we drove back to Saratoga Springs and took a leisurly walk around the resort. This is a beautiful resort and its very well landscaped.

Our morning/afternoon at Downtown Disney was nice. It was a bit more crowded than I had anticipated. It was Noon when we got there and the World of Disney was packed. I was dodging other guests like a running back through a defensive line. Shoulder pads and a helmet would have been helpful. :)

One other observation about Downtown Disney and the rest of the Walt Disney World for that matter. I don't know what it is, but it seems to me there has been a drastic reduction of air conditioning in gift shops, hotel lobbies, restaurants, etc across property. Now, I'm all for conserving energy, but I truly believe Disney has tipped the scale on conserving energy and now it's just too warm in these common areas. When you walk into a gift shop to try and cool off and you feel little difference in the temperature it seems to me it's too conservative. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? I think Disney has taken too much of a cost-cutting approach with air conditioning and energy costs. I've been coming here for years and can remember saying how unbelievably cold it was in the common areas. Now, it's not even close. Just my two cents.

The food at Ohana was very good tonight. I enjoyed the meats and other food. The food was hot and well prepared. The service was not too good. My Diet Coke was left unfilled for quite some time. Both servers who helped our table didn't appear like they wanted to be there. The rest of the staff seemed okay, but our two servers not so much. The restaurant is still on the noisy side, but it was okay with us. It also seemed like the meats were not coming around fast enough. We waited quite a while to get what we wanted. I wasn't budging either until we were all satisfied. It was a good meal and we'll probably go back again soon. Ohana still provides a nice atmosphere and the food has seemed to improve.

Tomorrow we are waking-up early and heading over to the Animal Kingdom for morning Extra Magic Hours (8:00AM). We'll probably come back to the resort in the afternoon for a swim. Tomorrow night we don't have any plans so we'll probably go wherever the wind may take us.

More to come! :)

Good Morning -

We are out the door to the Animal Kingdom for early morning Extra Magic Hours. We plan to tackle Expedition Everest, Dinoland, and maybe grab a ride on Kali River Rapids. We are going to try breakfast at Pizzafari. They serve full counter service breakfast.

Later this afternoon we plan on going to the pool. Not sure if we're going to the main pool or the Grandstand pool.

I'll be back with more pictures from the Animal Kingdom this morning.

More to come! :)

Time to tackle the Yeti in the AM. I wonder what the Yeti will look like. A mode, B mode, or C mode???

Going up the lift hill on EE. The Yeti was in B mode with the strobe light on him.

Great reports Aaron. Seems like you are really lovin SSR our home resort. It gets a bad rap but overall it's a pretty nice resort.

Enjoy EE in whatever mood Yeti chosses to be in. :)

Agreed. We loved SSR when we stayed there. Our expectations were low due to the reports we had heard. Very pleasently surprised by that resort. :thumbsup2

Pizzafari serves up hot breakfast each morning at the Animal Kingdom. It's counter service style.

We are enjoying SSR quite a bit. The Grandstand is a great section of the resort. I believe when the new Paddock's section pool and counter service food location is finished it will be very nice.

At Festival of the Lion King. The first show of the day at 10:00AM. It's packed! A full show.

Current AK wait times.

So is this what the different modes of the Yeti are?

A Mode: No movement, no strobe light action (A dead Yeti)
B Mode: No movement, strobe light action (Active-looking Yeti, but no movement)
C Mode: Movement with Strobe light (The best and scariest Yeti you have ever seen)

The times are funny. I never thought KRR would be the longest wait but it makes sense for June. We only go in winter when it is almost always a walk-on or very little wait.

Back at SSR. The Paddocks quiet pool.

A Mode: No movement, no strobe light action (A dead Yeti)
B Mode: No movement, strobe light action (Active-looking Yeti, but no movement)
C Mode: Movement with Strobe light (The best and scariest Yeti you have ever seen)
A Mode = Yeti working perfectly - He's moving and his cavern is fully lit.
B Mode = Yeti is not moving, the cavern is dark, but the strobe light is on him making it appear that he is moving.
C Mode = There is only a light shining on him and he is lifeless; not moving at all.

I've never understood why they haven't been able to fix him. I'm sure it must have something to do with complexity and cost issues. They spent a ton of money on the EE attraction and now they can't fix the Yeti. A lot of guests don't even know he is broke. They see him in B mode and think they saw him, but in reality he wasn't working the way he was intended to work. I've even heard some guests say they saw him....You know, the shadow, but never saw him in his cavern at all. They didn't even know there was a full animatronic Yeti. They really need to fix him...Hence, the "Fix Me" graphic in my signature. :)

You guys have a LOT of pool time!
Yea...I stopped and took a picture of the Paddock quiet pool as we were driving around the resort. We are actually getting ready to head out to the Grandstand pool in a few minutes. The best advice I could give anyone would be to hit the parks early in the morning, come back to your resort in the afternoon for a swim or rest in your room, and then hit another theme park in the evening. It makes for a great day especially in this heat.

Aaron,

We plan on following the exact strategy you are using. Can you tell me if the mornings are very crowded? I'm hoping the extra magic hour mornings are a lot less crowded than the evenings this time of year. I totally agree it's much too hot to be out midday, especially in my case with 4 little ones. TIA
