I am a 5th grade teacher and am planning an "Adopt A Number" project for my students. They will be given a particular number and will try to research anything that they can find relating to the #. As an example, I am going to do the project for # 12. What can you tell me about 12? I am not really looking for 3x4=12 type of things. So far, I have 12th president is Zachary Taylor, Big 12 NCAA conference, #12 in Nascar is Ryan Newman....etc.
I want them to associate numbers in other avenues other than in "math". So, let's hear what you share!!
