Admit it - How Many Home Pregnancy Tests Did you Take?

I took one with my first. It turned so fast, there was no doubting it. With my second, I took about 2 dozen. Those stupid things kept coming up negative, but I KNEW I was pg (we had been trying for 2 years); finally did blood at the Dr. for a positive. I took two with my third. I just need mental confirmation.

My ob says false positives are so exteremly rare, they don't question 'em. It's false negatives they get from time to time.

I thought I was the only neurotic pregnancy tester out there. :rotfl: With #1 I took two. We had suffered infertility issues and I just couldn't believe one. My PCP also gave me a urine test to confirm.

With #2 I took two, again just to be sure.

With #3 I took about 5. Unplanned, completely out of nowhere using multiple types of birth control. I just couldn't believe it. :confused3

with ds i took 2. i took them before i missed a cycle too. i just knew. the first one was a store brand, and it turned positive before i was done peeing on it, lol but i still had to double check so dh ran and got an ept brand, and that turned positive just as fast. called the dr the following day, and they said if the test was positive then i was pg, i asked even though i hadn't missed a period yet, and they said my hormones must be high fast. i went the following week for an appt. and my dr did an exam on me and said there was no doubt about it, lol.
my big brother (13 yrs older) wouldn't believe it until the dr confirmed though. (i will always be 5 to him)

2 was the most... and I took them right in a row last pregnancy.

I did have a scare a few months ago and bought another 2 pack. Hubby had a vasctomy last spring so I was freaked. False Alarm.

I took 2 with DS#1. I was 19 and just couldn't believe I was pregnant. :teeth:
With DS's 2-4, I only took 1.

With DS #1, 2. The first one was so pale I almost threw it out thinking it was negative when I noticed a hint of color. I then took another 4 days later and that was clearly positive. My doctor never did a blood test.

With DS# 2, I was having trouble conceiving so during that year+ I took a ton of pregnancy and ovulation tests. The month I did get pregnant I took one that was positive. I then went into my doctors office for a blood test 2 days later, just because of all the trouble I had conceiving they wanted a test this time.

Only 1 with each pregnancy = 3 total.

I had no idea women took so many :confused3

I learn something new on the Dis everyday :thumbsup2

One each for 3 pregnacies and two for the last one (first didn't work at all) I still have them minus the pee strip. :rotfl2:

I took 2. First one was negative, so I took another one a week later and that one was positive.

Two with my first pregnancy, one with the second. With both pregnancies my OB/GYN did blood tests to confirm.

I only used one when it was positive. I went through several when I was hoping and they were negative.

My doctor never did a blood test to see if I was pregnant either. Both times I actually had a positive hpt, the nurses simply said when I called in, "Well, then, you're pregnant. We'll see you at your 12 week. When was the first date of your last period so we can see when that will be?" Then we'd make the appointment.

Took about 10 for the first kid, I was having problems getting pregnant so I had a hard time believing. About 4 for kid 2 and kid 3 and six for kid 4 (he was a BIG condembroke/morningafterpillfailed baby. I have never had a blood test to see if I was pregnant. Doc said the over the counter tests are good enough for him...he said it is rare that a positive doesn't mean you are pregnant.

I took one and believed it. I found out I was pregnant right before Christmas 02 and my first visit with my OB/GYN wasn't until mid-Jan 03. In between that time, I took another HPT because I was worried...I never got sick during my pregnancy and never really felt pregnant early on (other than being tired).

This is funny. My friend was late once so she ran to the store and picked up a HPT. She got home and took it and it was positive. She couldn't believe it. She started panicing. She looked again. Yep, it was positive. She looked at the box. The box agreed, it was positive. . . she was ovulating!!! She bought the wrong test by accident.

I took one of each brand at the drugstore, so I think I did about five! My little one was a surprise!

Actually, my doctor, and I know many others, did not do a blood test. Once I called and indicated I had the positive test, they set my appt up for when I was approx 10 weeks pregnant, no blood test at all. They said the at home tests are pretty accurate once your monthly curse is late.
Same here, no blood test, made the appt based on the HPT positive.

When I found out my blood test was positive, the first thing I did was go out and buy HPTs. I wanted to see it myself. I felt cheated that I didn't get to experience it, so I bought a pack of 2 and used them both. :goodvibes Waste of money? Maybe. But, after 2 years, I had never seen a positive HPT and I wasn't going to miss the chance.

Well, I've used quite a few, but have no kids yet :)

DH and I are trying to get pregnant, and have been using Clomid for 5 cycles now. I have very irregular cycles, so I have no idea when late actually is. The Clomid and Glucophage make me pretty nauseous, so that isn't a particularly helpful sign. My doc recommended using one about every week after day 30. Rite Aid loves me now...

So by the time we have child #1, I'll probably be at 100
