adjoining studios?

Hi all -

DD,9, and I are going to WDW w/her godmother and I'm trying to figure out accomodations...I'm thinking 2 studios would be better than a 1 br - that way both of us adults get our space. I would at least like to be close to her though.

Which if any of the resorts have adjoining studios? Do any of them connect?

As far as I have read here and elsewhere there there are no adjoining studios and none that connect to anything other than a 1 BR to make a lockoff two bedroom. You can request they be close and hopefully they will be on the same floor or in the same building depending on which resort you chose.

Your options are a single studio, 2 studios requesting they be near each other, the 1 BR or a 2 BR. For this group I'd likely do a single studio at OKW so you have 2 beds.

With a studio at OKW, you will have two queen sized beds, but you will all be in the same room. You will still have the kitchenette and a small table and chairs though. In ALL of the other DVC resorts, a studio will give you 1 queen sized bed and 1 full sized pull out sofa. If you get a 1 bedroom unit, you will have a king bed in the master bedroom and a queen sized pull out sofa AND you will each have your "own space", so to speak. If someone doesn't mind sleeping on a pull out sofa, then the 1 bedroom would give you extra space plus a full kitchen and (most importantly) an in room laundry. I do agree with Dean though, if you stay at OKW, your points will stretch farther for more space, and a single studio will still get you 2 real beds. Also with a 1 bedroom at OKW, you will get one of the new comfy hide-a-bed sofas with the foam mattresses and no bar...very comfy.

The BWV does have some studios that are adjoining (but not connecting). However, it would only be a request - which the resort may not be able to grant.

I forgot that OKW has 2 queens...that could work. I didn't know about the sofa beds at Old Key - are they comfy for an adult?

We had adults who used them last year and were very happy with them. These were the new style.
