Can you request and receive adjoining rooms at the moderates? I am trying to plan a trip with DD and grandparents, and we need two rooms, but value suites are too loud for us and we can't afford deluxe. TIA
We have always had our requests met. Maybe we were lucky, not sure. So yes you can request them and hope to have them honored. They will always say it is not guaranteed.
On another note - just so you know the difference. Adjoining rooms are close to each other if you want connecting rooms you need to make note of that upon request.
I see all too many times people get confused and then get upset when they realize there is a difference between adjoining and connecting. Just a FYI in case you did not realize.
Adjoining means near each other so -IE - your room would be # 123 and their room would be in the general vicinity. Same hallway but maybe 2 to 3 doors down from yours or even possibly next door but they would not be "connecting". They would technically be 2 separate rooms.
Whereas
Connecting rooms would have the door in between each room on the inside.
Connecting rooms are just a request, and as I can attest to, one not always met. If it would ruin your vacation to not get them, then you need to give serious thought to booking a family suite, or maybe a fort wilderness cabin.
I have to say too, I've stayed in a family suite before, and not found them loud at all. Certainly not any louder than rooms at a moderate resort. You can always end up with loud neighbors, no matter where you stay. Asking for a room on the back side of a building helps keep the noise level down, as does taking a room on the top floor. No sounds of kiddies jumping up and down on your ceiling.
Many of the rooms at CSR are adjoining rooms. We requested adjoining rooms in the cabana and got adjoining rooms in the casitas in 2011. Both rooms were reserved in my name, maybe that makes a difference.

You can request it, but there is no guarantee. Worst case is that the rooms would be next door to each other and is really no big deal. I haven't heard many complaints about them not getting the request met. Good luck.
They will try hard to meet a request for connecting rooms (in Disney speak if you want an interior door between two rooms be sure you ask for connecting - not adjoining - that's been covered) but there is the possibility that they won't be able to. You do not hear about that happening much, though.
Decided to go without grandparents for DD 2's first trip. We will stay at Swan (starwood points to use) and it's nice they have cribs. In the future though we'd love to stay at a mod or Wilderness with the grandparents and this info has been very helpful. Thank you!
