Cast:
Mike-Cutest boy in all the land and best husband ever. He's 32 and likes to play softball, golf and paintball.
Me, Adrienne-I'm 31 for a couple more days. I pretend I'm a scrapbooker but really I just like to buy beautiful paper and embellishments and let them gather dust in my office. This trip is my birthday present.
Background:
We met in junior high and I told my Mom someday we would be married. Sure enough, 13 years later, my prediction came true! We've been married for almost 7 years. No kids but we have a pug, Mr. Miyagi, and two nieces we love to spoil. Our first vacation together was to NY right after high school graduation and we've been taking fun trips every year since. This will be our 3rd trip to WDW.
Our first trip was over Memorial Day weekend. It was a whirlwind and I barely remember anything. Heat/humidity, huge crowds, the sky way, Mike's little brothers squirting each other in the face w/their mister fans and yelling it was "pepper spray" and then fist fighting on the bus back to the hotel over who was going to be the Fresident (president if you're not 6 yrs old) of the World Wrestling Federation, that's about it. My sincere apologies to anyone who was on that shuttle back to the BW LBV, Memorial Day 1999.
Our second visit was a spur of the moment thing in 2003. My car got totaled a few days before we left and that pretty much set the tone for our trip. We were in Florida for our anniversary trip and thought it would be fun to spend our actual anniversary at MK. So far our week had consisted of delayed flights, sickness, seeing a man of advanced age in a shiny gold thong, losing $1500 (then thankfully finding it again-whew!), oh, and how could I forget, trying to eat lunch at a sidewalk cafe while the drunk guy at the next table decided it was a good time to remove his shorts AND underwear, ugh, sadly those were the highlights. We checked into the Swan, great room, good view. As soon as we caught the bus to MK it began to pour. And pour. And pour. We're from Oregon, we're used to rain but geez. We were too cool so quickly nixed the idea of wearing ponchos. Ponchos are for nerds, we'll just suck it up we thought. It never occurred to me that cute halter top+monsoon rains+chilliness=cute halter top turning into x-rated halter top. Oh no. Won't make that mistake again and shame on all you Pervy McPerv dads roaming around Main Street that day.
We're headed to Pop 5/5-5/11. We've got ADRs at Sci Fi and 50's PTC. I know the food isn't that spectacular at either place but I'm a sucker for kitsch! We aren't really all that into food so the rest of the time we'll be eating counter service. I've spent a lot of time (mainly lurking) on these boards and have read the UG cover to cover several times. I've planned my little behind off and can't wait to do Disney!!
Here we are so you can put faces with my novel and I threw in Mr. Miyagi just because he's so darn darling!
