Address Swap Progress Thread

Here is the final list for the Address Swap. These will be due to me by June 1st. Please include three stamps for return postage. Also please include a note with any special instructions. We have a total of 18 people so if you want to swap with everyone please send that many. If I have extras of anyones I will return them back to you.

It is a designers choice of either a business card or a rolodex (2 1/4"x4") card. You can make it as elaborate or non-elaborate as you'd like. Its all up to you. Have fun and let me know if anyone has problems.

They need to include the following information:

Birthday (year is optional)

space for phone number to be added later if wanted

what kind of paper are ya'll using? Or are you just decorating the cards in the rolodex. I can't decide if I should print something or write it by hand.

18 will probably be easier to sort. Then if someone else would like one in the future you would at least have 1 on hand.

Did you print on patterned paper or plain? I was thinking of printing on paper and then using my die cut to cut them out. What do you think?

That is what my plan was. Or, as I have done in the past, cut out the paper with the dies. Print off the copy on plain paper. Attach the cut outs to the paper with repostionable double stick tape. Voila. I have had much success with that plan. I hadn't decided yet.

Does the BossCut die need one of the those adapter blocks to work in my Sizzix?

The adaptor? Yes it does. I haven't tried it in my side kick yet. I'll try it tonight and report back to you. They are about the thickness of a sizzlet.

I can send you the adapter and the shim. Dh had to make me a 1/8 inch plexiglas shim. If you have the sidekick that will work too you just need 4 pieces of cardboard which I also have. The adapter was roughly $14 at ACMoore.

I'm almost done with mine, but we ran out of 1 color ink last night after I only printed 4! I did business card size. (and they are not super fancy! actually, they are not even that fancy at all, LOL)

I'm just going to make business sized cards and then people can adhere them to their own rolodex cards.

FYI: I found some Sizzic adapters at Archivers a couple of months ago that can be used with any brand of the really thin dies such as Quick-Kutz, BossKuts, etc. They came in a package of 6 or 8 and you put that under the die with something on top (if you're using the regular Sizzix like I have). Last night, I just put a folded sheet of copy paper on top because cardboard was too thick. It punched fine for a Quick-Kutz die I was using. I like some of the Quick-Kutz dies but don't want to pay for the press.

OK I was looking at Nancys and the ones I've started and do not think these need to be returned to you in priority envelopes unless you want them that way. I have updated the first post with a request for three stamps for return postage. I can place them in a business envelope and send them your way. If you prefer priority flat rate just let me know and I'll send it that way.
