Does anyone know of an address for the Disney World Gates or a restaurant/business that is RIGHT next to the Disney World Gates? My husband and I are flying to FL and my parents are driving. We are wanting to meet AT the world gates so that my sister will realize where she is (instead of on the trip to AK like my parents have been telling her for weeks). We want to sync the address we go to on our GPS so that this is possible. We do not want to meet them at a business and then drive to the gates because my sister does not realize that we are meeting up at any point. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I can't seem to come up with anything online.

Thanks! :-D

What do you mean by Disney World gates? There are many entrances to Disney World property but they are divided 4 lane highways.

Each of the parks and water parks have their own entrance gates.

Dunno if this is what you're looking for.

Only business I can think of right next to one of the park gates is the Rainforest Cafe next to the Animal Kingdom

Address:
505 North Rainforest Road; Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park; Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Hope this helps.

Are you referring to these archways?

If you are referring to the archway in the PP's picture, there are no parking lots or areas near there, so you really can't plan to meet there. As others have said, all of the entrances to WDW are on major roadways and it's probably not safe to park on the side of the road.

You're best options are either at the entrances to one of the parks or at some store near WDW and then you can drive in together.

What about Crossroads Shopping Center? When you pull out of that parking lot and cut straight across 535 (or is it 536?), you'd be on Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Isn't there an arch or 'gate' at that end of that road?

How about meeting in Downtown Disney? You could park and meet at a restaurant close to the parking lot. There is so much "Disney" around that it is hard to miss, but for a kid (and you didn't say how old she is), she might miss the connection until it is pointed out.

Thanks everyone. I did mean "arches". I call them gates but that is what I meant. I'm ok with other places I just want her to get the feel of Disney World when we pull up. I agree that along the roads probably not the best idea. I was hoping there would be a pull off somewhere. What is at the crossroads area? And my sister is 13. It's been a while since I've been to downtown Disney but Im' a little afraid that she may just think that area is a Disney Store and not part of the world. That's why I was hoping for one of the arches. I'm hoping for an AH HA moment! haha

No guarantees here on this working...

Click the link below and zoom in all the way on the "B" flag and rotate it so you can see the Minnie and Mickey on each side of the road. That's what it will look like.

You could also "meet" at the "A" address since it's right across the street.

Driving directions with birds eye view

If you wanted to go through the Magic Kingdom gate, you could go through the back entrance and meet up at the car care center but they would see the gate just sitting there most likely although it is on the other side of the road. You would just take the "U" turn once you met up and bam, MK parking gates.

Well, if you're driving from Orlando airport, she's going to have about 40 minutes of "This way to Walt Disney World" highway signs, right?:confused3

That moment will come when she passes through the turnstiles to walk into the park...there's really no other way of generating an inspiring moment elsewhere.

No matter how you arrive, you can't control when someone will get their first glimpse of the weenies in the parks. Your have to park, or take a bus, or boat, then pass through security and line up to scan your ticket. Hoping to have a dramatic moment before passing under the Main Street USA train station is setting yourself up for disappointment.

FYI there are no pull offs near any of the archways. There are also signs posted saying there is no stopping allowed. The roads are 50mph and stopping can be very dangerous.

I'd like to help, but I'm absolutely confused.:rotfl: Your parents have been telling your 13 yo sister that she's going to Animal Kingdom but you're looking for a way for her to realize she's going to Disney World by meeting on the highway at the gates?

I'm not trying to be snarky or sarcastic, I just am genuinely confused at what she knows and exactly what the surprise is? :confused3

(I'm thinking the Crossroads is probably the best bet, but as others have said...it's not like a commuter lot is right there to stop in...)

Why not meet in Marriott World Center's parking lot/entrance. Since your flying in, (MCO?) Taking 417 South it would be Exit 6. Just drive straight and it'll be on right after the 536/535 intersection.

8701 World Center Dr.
Orlando, FL 32821
That's just a mile or so to the "arches". Then you could follow each other from there through the arches, but there is no place to stop along the way. Speed is 50mph, and not safe plus its posted "no stopping"

Crossroads would work to, but that's a little more busy traffic.
McDonald's address: 12549 State Road 535, Orlando, FL 32836-6724
Follow same 417 South, Exit 6, then turn right onto 535 and it's a few miles down the road on the right.

I'd like to help, but I'm absolutely confused.:rotfl: Your parents have been telling your 13 yo sister that she's going to Animal Kingdom

Before I looked it up and realized I was wrong, I thought they'd been telling her she was going to Arkansas (but no, AK is Alaska, which I totally should have already known LOL). But now I'm in the same boat as you. :)

Our first trip to WDW was *full* of aha moments. Some happened as we landed at the airport. Some happened as I felt the Florida air (until it turned freezing, that is). One happened as we approached the sign pictured in this thread! And then they just kept happening.

And none of them *really* happened when I thought they were going to happen, so if I'd been hoping for something I would have been disappointed.

Being there will be exciting enough and when she sees that her sister is there it'll be ANOTHER exciting moment! Don't worry about missing *one*, when there will likely be so many.

(of course since she's 13 there might be none, if she's already in the sulky "I hate family" phase, LOL)
