Are there any coupon codes that give a free addtional driver with Alamo? I know you can use the Wal Mart code, but that has to go in the ID box, which I already have a code in.

That gives me a rate of $493. I was trying to use the Travel Zoo ID: TZPROMO (gives me a rate of $228), but was looking for something that gave me a free additional driver.

Try joining their membership club. It allows an additional driver:

8. AUTHORIZED DRIVERS: I am the authorized driver if I have a valid driver's license and meet all of your rental requirements. I and the following persons, with my permission, may operate the car: (1) my spouse; or (2) my employer, or fellow employees incidental to their business duties, provided the persons have a valid driver's license and meet all of your rental requirements and are not impaired from operating the rental car.

Make the same reservation you had before. At the bottom it asks for your ***silver id number. Put your membership number in there so it's linked with your reservation. Now you've got the rates from before, but you're a (you know what - can't use the silver name here) member, whose terms include free spouse as a driver.

You're welcome! Sorry, though, I thought they gave you the number faster... maybe my recommedations to too many people have tied up their computers!

I would recommend that you get that TZPROMO reservation locked in, because I believe it ended 4/8. You may want to call their toll free # and ask them to apply your *silver number to the reservation. If you're picking up a minivan, that promo rate is more important than the extra driver cost, I'm pretty sure!

Be carefule when you call back to add your QS number to the existing res. Your rate will change to the crrent rate. A manager will cancel the reservation and then over ride a new resrevation a and give you the original amount. However, you will not be given a conf in writing that the rate remains the same as the previous. Believe me when I tell you this as I jsut went through it. I now have no wrriten proof and don't feel comfortable goin got the counter to pick up my car wihtout one.-
