Additional driver question..

We are renting through enterprise and it will be me and my DH driving since there is no charge for him. My question is we are driving from NY and I would like to add another driver but not for $20 a day ( 2 week rental) will they let me pay for 2 days if I know that is when he will be driving? If I don't have another driver it will be just me and my DH driving

Please don't take this personally, but why should they take your word for it that the person will only drive 2 days? I think the $20 a day is ridiculous but that's what they charge.

The best thing to do is call them to get an answer.

I agree why should they believe me. I was just curious I don't see the sense in adding another $200 to my bill when I know he will not be driving any more than that

I feel it's unlikely, but definitely ask.

Does this mean you'll be doing marathon-style driving, that you're worried about this? What if you put some of the money towards a hotel night, if you didn't have one, for the drive? Keep yourselves safer in that way? If that's what you're worried about.

Yes that is. looks like that is what we will do. I never drove straight through before we always stayed at a hotel looks like we will have to again

One option I used with an underage driver arriving two days before I did:
She checked in and picked up the car, under 25 years old. I had her pick me up. We had a second reservation for the five days I was only on as driver.
So it meant going to the rental and signing a new agreement.
